Super puffy stickers from kawaii brands like Kamio are perfect for adding that extra special touch to your handmade cards. They are not only amazingly cute, they also give amazing dimension to your cards and really make them pop. Some of them are even decorated with rhinestones!

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Super Puffy Kawaii Stickers

I was very excited to get crafting with these beautiful stickers so I made this cute birthday card:

Materials Used: Pink cardstock, scrapbooking papers by Provo Craft, light purple cardstock, light pink cardstock, pink glitter gel pen, ‘Happy Birthday’ stamp, purple ink and Kamio Super Puffy Animals & Sweets Kawaii stickers.

I chose a blue cat sticker as my centrepiece. He is carrying a plate of macaroons and features a heart-shaped rhinestone near his left ear. Does it get any cuter?

He is also extra puffy for that extra special touch. He’s about 5mm thick, giving great depth and dimension to my card.

With such a dominant embellishment, you do need to anchor him to your page. And by anchor, I don’t mean how you attach him – he’s an ordinary sticker you just stick down as normal. However, your card design needs to include other elements to support him so that he doesn’t look out of place.

It comes down to weight distribution. Thanks to gravity, we all expect heavy things to be at the bottom and for extra heavy things to have other elements to support them. Keep this in mind when creating your own cards.

In this card, I have a big, heavy embellishment. So, I have placed him in the bottom right corner of my card. This places the weight of my design at the bottom of my card – where you would expect it to be.

I have also added an extra element to support that weight – the light purple square behind my embellishment.

Balance is another important element of design that is closely tied with weight distribution. Think about a table with one leg in the centre to support it. A table is designed to take some weight being placed on it. However, if you keep putting weight on just one corner of the table, it will eventually fall over. If, instead, you distribute that weight around the table, it will remain sturdy and balanced.

The same principle applies with card design. If you have a heavy element in one corner, you need to add extra elements to give it balance.

In this card, my super puffy sticker is positioned towards the top right corner of the purple square. To balance this out, I have placed my ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment in the bottom left corner of the purple square. This distributes the weight of my design between the two opposing corners.

However, due to the dominant nature of my super puffy sticker, just doing this was not quite enough. So, I added two much smaller, less dominant stickers, one on either side of my large sticker. This did the trick … and made my card even cuter!

I hope this card idea has helped give you an insight into how I make cards and some of the important elements that make up a great card design. I’d love to hear what you think of my Kawaii Card Idea. Please leave a comment in the comments box below.

One thing I have always loved to do is to write letters and notes to my friends. Even now that we have email, I still think there is something special about writing and receiving hand-written letters. So this week, I thought it would be fun to make my own letter set using some of our adorable kawaii stickers.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Kawaii Stickers

Handmade letter sets are a great way to personalise your mail, but they also make wonderful gifts for the letter-writers in your life. Perhaps you could make a collection of personalised writing paper with matching envelopes for a letter writer in your family this Christmas.

For this letter set, I wanted to make something cute, so I chose to use these Cute Happy Sea World kawaii stickers.

Other than that, all I needed was some plain white paper, two shades of blue ink and a line stamp to create this letter paper with matching envelope:

To create the letter paper, I cut a sheet of plain white paper to the desired size. I then inked the edges with light blue ink and set it aside to dry.

While I waited for it to dry, I used a scrap piece of paper to cut out an oval shape. I then placed it over the centre of my paper to cover the area that I wanted to keep white. I then smudged my second shade of blue ink all over the remaining exposed section to create a nice background.

I also used a line stamp to stamp in the lines for writing on. I left two little spaces in the lines though, so I could add the two small fish stickers.

When everything was dry, I decorated my new writing paper with my Cute Happy Sea World kawaii stickers to give this result:

Of course, writing paper also needs a matching envelope, so I made one out of another sheet of plain white paper.

I used the same technique as above with my two blue ink pads to create the blue background. I left a white rectangle in the bottom right corner so I can write an address there later. I then decorated the envelope with some more of my Cute Happy Sea World kawaii stickers.

And now I have an adorable letter set to write a letter to a friend. What could be more special than a hand-written note on paper made just for them?

Kawaii dress-up stickers are puffy stickers that work just like paper dolls. Each sheet features at least one doll sticker for you to dress up and an array of outfits and accessories to choose from. They are a lot of fun for little girls to play with but they also make fantastic dimensional embellishments for your paper crafting projects!

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Kamio Kawaii Stickers

This week, I wanted to share with you two birthday cards I made from a single sheet of kawaii dress-up stickers:

I designed the first card with my teenage niece in mind. It features the doll sticker itself. I have dressed her up in stylish ‘rock’ clothing to given her a young, modern look that would appeal to any teenage girl and accessorised her with a fun headband and a sleek black handbag. I then have placed her against a sophisticated black and red backdrop featuring the outline of a guitar. Just the thing that would appeal to a young adult!

One of the great things about these kawaii dress-up stickers is that you get to choose how you dress them so you can add a touch of your own personal style.

Layering the clothes and accessories on top of the doll also gives your card texture and dimension so that it really stands out:

Of course, you can’t fit all of the clothes and accessories on the doll all at once, you will inevitably have some left over. You can still put them to great use though and create your own fashion themed birthday cards like this one:

For this card, I used a selection of leftover tops, shoes and accessories. I arranged a selection of circles down the left side of the card and embellished them with my stickers. I then added a ‘Happy Birthday’ message and accented it with a pair of red shoes to give my design a bit of pop.

And once again, I have created a birthday card that would be suitable for a teenage girl or anyone who just likes fashion.

Kawaii (pronounced ka-why-ee) is the Japanese word for cute and is commonly used to refer to cute products from Japan. The most common types of kawaii products are cosmetics (like lip gloss and eye shadow), fashion items (like ear-rings and pendants), home items (like frying pans with cute faces) and our favourite…stationery and craft items.

We are so excited to share with you, our first range of kawaii stickers. They are from a popular Japanese kawaii company called Kamio and they feature all sorts of sophisticated and adorable designs.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Kamio Kawaii Stickers

Kawaii stickers have a style all of their own…one that is rarely matched by scrapbooking companies from the US. They are also very versatile and can be used for all manner of craft projects. But most importantly, they just make you smile!

These are a few of our new designs from Kamio:

If you look closely, you can see that these particular stickers are embellished with foil accents – some silver and gold.

Kawaii stickers are made from a wide variety of mediums. Some are your typical flat stickers while others, like the ones above are accented with gold or silver foil. Others are made from a hard but light plastic. These are my personal favourite as they have dimension without being too heavy and bulky. Plus the designs tend to be super cute!

Other stickers, know as satin stickers, are made from fabric and have a wonderful texture to them.

Not all designs fall into the cute category, but even the more mature designs have an element of elegance and sophistication about them and are just as appealing. They often feature real life images like cakes, macaroons, flowers, butterflies and more.

Which ones are your favourites? I can never choose. I love them all!
