You’ve probably noticed by now that I adore butterflies and I incorporate them into my scrapbooking layouts as much as possible. And the Sticko range from EK Success has some of the best butterfly scrapbooking stickers around! For this layout, I have chosen their Metallic Butterfly Stickers for their gorgeous colours and their pretty reflective appearance.

Click Here To View Our Sticko Stickers

Materials Used: Cloud 9 Pink Hearts paper, American Traditional Glitter paper, My Minds Eye Quite Smitten Surprise Bouquet paper, Autumn Leaves Paper Ribbon paper, Karen Foster Purple Houndstooth paper, white cardstock, light purple cardstock, pink cardstock, a purple pen, random pink alphabet stickers and Sticko Metallic Butterflies stickers.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea using butterfly scrapbooking stickers, follow these steps:

1. Use the Cloud 9 Pink Hearts paper as your background.

2. Cut a piece of American Traditional Glitter paper measuring approximately 10.7cm by 11.8cm. Glue vertically in the top right corner of your page approximately 1.5cm from the right edge and 1.7cm from the top edge.

3. Cut a second piece of American Traditional Glitter paper, this time measuring approximately 2cm by 10.5cm. Glue vertically on the left side of your page approximately 1.5cm from the left edge and 8cm from the top edge.

4. Cut a piece of My Minds Eye Quite Smitten Surprise Bouquet paper measuring approximately 23cm by 2.4cm. Glue towards the bottom left corner of your page approximately 2.5cm from the left edge and 1.9cm from the bottom edge.

5. Cut a piece of Autumn Leaves Paper Ribbon paper measuring approximately 25 by 4.8cm. Mat with white cardstock and glue across the bottom of your page approximately 3.6cm from the bottom edge. The left edge should be up against the left edge of your paper, as shown in the scrapbooking idea above.

6. Cut a piece of Karen Foster Purple Houndstooth paper measuring approximately 25cm by 2.4cm. Glue across your Paper Ribbon paper from step #5 approximately 0.6cm below the top edge of your Paper Ribbon paper.

7. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with light purple cardstock. Glue to your page approximately 4.2cm from the left edge and 3.2cm from the top edge. You will find it sits nicely in the top left corner of your pink paper.

8. Mat a smaller vertical photo with white cardstock and again with light purple cardstock. Glue next to your first photo. It should sits nicely in the top right corner of your pink paper, as shown above.

9. Use a random collection of pink alphabet stickers to write your title in the space underneath your small photo.

10. Cut a circle from pink cardstock. It should be about 5.3cm in diameter. Using a purple pen, draw a dotted border around the edge.

NOTE: If you want to conceal a small detail, like a date, include it in your dotted circle as I have done.

11. Mat your pink circle with light purple cardstock. You can use a plain or decorative-edged circle. For added effect, add a dashed border as well!

12. Glue your circle towards the bottom right corner of your page. I positioned mine as if it was at the end of my Paper Ribbons paper, but the exact positioning is up to you. When in place, add two metallic butterfly scrapbooking stickers, as shown above.

13. Finally, add 3 or 4 extra metallic butterfly stickers around your page.

Butterflies make stunning embellishments for your scrapbooking layouts. And they are so versatile! I have used them in combination with my flower photos, but they work beautifully with photos of weddings, anything with girls, romance, vacations and much more.

Butterfly stickers are probably my all time favourite type of stickers. My albums are literally full of them. I just can’t help it! They are so pretty! And there are so many designs and styles to choose from!

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Flower & Butterfly Stickers

Stickopotamus (Sticko for short) stickers from EK Success are amongst the best. They offer a wide variety of flat, glitter, vellum, shiny and metallic butterfly stickers to choose from. They come in pretty pinks, pastel purples, bright oranges and all sorts of other fun colour combinations so there is something for everyone.

Butterfly stickers can be used on a wide variety of scrapbooking projects including feminine layouts, layouts of flowers and the beauty of the great outdoors, off-the-page items like photo frames or tins and so much more.

In this layout, I have used glittery pink butterfly stickers from Sticko to compliment my pink flower photo:

Materials Used: Pink cardstock, Scrapbooking Australia Strawberry Candy paper, Provo Craft Pink Stripes paper, burgundy cardstock, white cardstock, pink ink, a brown pen, pink ribbon, Around the Block Black Alphabet stickers and Stickopotamus stickers.

This layout was surprisingly easy to create. I used a sketch from 500 Scrapbooking Sketches to guide my design.

Here are some tips to note when re-creating a layout like this.

1. The background paper was not a true 12×12 paper (don’t you hate that!) so I matted it on pink cardstock. It gave the layout a nice pink border as well as made my page 12×12.

2. To create the border around the pink stripes paper, I first used a brown pen to lightly draw a handful of horizontal and vertical lines in the top right and left corners. I then used a pink ink pad to brush ink all around the top and side edges. I used a criss-cross pattern for added interest.

3. Two of the butterfly stickers were matted with white cardstock to help them stand out from the background.

4. The alphabet stickers were not placed in a straight line. This was to make them more interesting, but also to help them fit.

5. There are several torn edges on this page. When tearing paper, always tear slowly and towards you for more control.

Butterfly stickers add a beautiful touch to your scrapbooking layouts. Give them a go. You might be surprised at just how gorgeous your pages turn out!

Tearing scrapbooking papers is often a forgotten technique, especially if you are a fan of layouts with straight clean lines like me. However, when used discreetly, as in the layout below, it is a great way to add interest to your page without making it messy.

This layout was created using Creative Imaginations Vine Stripe paper, Autumn Leaves Stripes paper, Doodlebug Blue Stripe paper, blue cardstock, white cardstock, blue ink, blue twill and Frances Meyer Butterflies stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Creative Imaginations Vine Stripe paper for your background. Ink the edges with blue ink and set aside to dry.

2. Cut a strip of Autumn Leaves Stripes paper approximately 21cm wide and ink the edges with blue ink. Adhere it vertically to your background approximately 1.5cm from the left edge.

3. Cut a piece of Doodlebug Blue Stripe paper approximately 19cm wide by 17cm tall. Make sure the stripes are horizontal. Tear down the right edge, as shown in the layout above. Ink the edges with blue ink. Adhere to your background approximately 2cm from the top and 9cm from the left edge.

4. Cut a piece of blue cardstock measuring approximately 18cm by 23cm. Ink the edges with blue ink and add your journaling to the bottom section, as shown in the layout above. Adhere to your page approximately 4cm from the top and 7cm from the left edge.

5. Mat your photo with white cardstock. Adhere towards the top of your blue cardstock, as shown in the layout above.

6. Cut a strip of Doodlebug Blue Stripe paper approximately 18cm wide by 2cm tall. Make sure the stripes are vertical this time. Tear along the bottom edge. Ink the edges with blue ink and adhere to your blue cardstock, just above your journaling. For the best effect, the top edge of this strip should follow the same line as the bottom edge of your larger piece of Doodlebug Blue Stripe paper.

7. Adhere a piece of blue twill across your page underneath your photo and above your journaling.

8. Finish off by placing a blue butterfly sticker from Frances Meyer Butterflies stickers on top of the twill near the bottom right corner of your photo. You may like to adhere it to cardstock and cut it out first to give it depth.
