Finding time to devote to your scrapbooking albums can be a struggle, even for the most devoted scrapper. We all get caught up in the whirlwind of life. There’s always something to take attention away from our craft. So, when we finally do find time to scrap, it is important to make the most of that time. The more pages we can finish (and be proud of) the better, right?

It is possible to achieve more in the time we have to scrap. All we need to do is shift our approach to scrapping just a little and employ a few very simple techniques. Give them a try and you are sure to be creating layouts faster and with ease.

1. Be organised! The biggest time saving tip that I can give you is to keep your scrapbooking supplies in some kind of order. How you organise your supplies is up to you but make sure you know where all your supplies are and that they are all easily accessible. That way you don’t have to go searching through everything every time you scrap. Plus, it will be a quick and easy clean up after each project so you are not confronted with a big mess next time you sit down to scrap.

Different systems work for different people. Personally, I organise my supplies by type (eg paper in one place, stickers in another, ribbon in another etc) and then by colour. Find the method of organisation that suits your scrapbooking style.

2. Use multiple photos. I know that pages featuring one photo can look simply stunning and are a lot of fun to make. But, if you ensure a majority of your pages include more than one photo you will move through your photos much faster and maybe even finish off some of those albums sitting on your shelf. With more photos on the page you will also find each layout takes less time to embellish as you simply don’t have as much space leftover to embellish.

3. Use pre-made alphabets. Whether they be alphabet stickers, rub-ons or die-cuts, pre-made alphabets can save you enormous amounts of time by making your titles quick and simple to assemble. Stamping or even cutting out your own letters can be very effective but quite time-consuming. If you use a lot of letters you may like to consider purchasing a personal die-cutting machine like a Sizzix or a Cricut and several alphabet dies.

4. Use scrapbooking sketches. Sketches give you easy to follow templates that can be applied to any type of layout. They take the guesswork out of planning your pages and can be huge time savers. Consider investing in a copy of my 500 Scrapbooking Sketches collection so you always have ideas to refer to.

5. Finally, don’t be a perfectionist. Scrapbooking is not about creating the perfect page design. It’s about treasuring the important memories in your life and being able to re-live them and share them with others for many years to come.

If you have any time saving tips for scrapbooking, we’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment in the comments box below.

I tend not to use many pinks, purples or yellows on my scrapbooking pages (I use lots of greens, browns and reds) but Easter scrapbooking ideas present a fabulous opportunity to branch out and play with some new colour combinations and fun Easter stickers.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Easter Stickers

This Easter scrapbooking idea is very quick and easy to recreate. It uses two bright and colourful patterned papers, cheerful Easter stickers and some doodling.

Materials Used: Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripe paper, Beary Patch Grape Spots cardstock, pink cardstock, cream cardstock, purple alphabet stickers, a purple pen and Suzy’s Zoo Easter Joy stickers.

Doodling is a great way to add personality to your page and highlight your photos. In this layout I have used very simple doodling to frame my page. If you are shy of adding doodling to your page, start with something simple like this. You can even use a template as a guide to help you!

To recreate this Easter scrapbooking idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the pink cardstock as your background.

2. Cut three strips of Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripe paper each approximately 6.8cm tall. Make sure that when the strip is placed horizontally, the stripes are vertical. Adhere the first strip horizontally across the centre of your page. Adhere another one approximately 2.5cm above it and the other 2.5cm below it.

3. Using a purple pen, draw a frame around your page. If you are not comfortable doodling free-hand, try using a template or stitching your frame. I have used a scallop shape for my Easter scrapbooking idea, but you can use whatever you want – straight line, dashed line, zig-zag etc.

4. Cut a piece of Beary Patch Grape Spots cardstock measuring approximately 24cm by 18cm. Adhere to your page approximately 5cm from the top and 1.5cm from the right edge.

5. Cut two pieces of cream cardstock large enough to be your photo mats. Glue vertically and side by side in the centre of your Grape Spots cardstock from the previous step.

6. Cut a square of Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripe paper measuring approximately 7cm by 7cm. Place in front of you so the stripes are horizontal. Tear in half along the diagonal from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. so that the stripes are horizontal. Adhere one half to the top left corner of the left photo mat and the other to the bottom right corner of the right photo mat.

7. Adhere your photos in the centre of your photo mats.

8. Use purple alphabet stickers to write your title below your photo mats.

9. Finally, accent your Easter scrapbooking ideas with Easter stickers in the top right corner and bottom left corner of your page.

Simplicity is the key to quick scrapbooking ideas. By minimising the number of supplies you are using and sticking to a straight-lined balanced page it is very easy to create a sophisticated layout in a short amount of time. Here is an example of a scrapbooking layout you can put together yourself in under half an hour.

This layout was created using Scenic Route Charlotte Hill Stripe Paper, Scenic Route Charlotte Brown Floral Paper, three shades of brown cardstock, brown ink and small brown alphabet stickers.

Click Here To View Scenic Route Charlotte Hill Stripe Paper
Click Here To View Scenic Route Charlotte Brown Floral Paper

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the underside of the Scenic Route Charlotte Hill Stripe Paper as your background.

2. Take your darkest shade of brown cardstock and adhere a vertical 5×7 photo in the top right rand corner leaving a border of at least 3mm around it. Adhere a vertical, smaller photo directly beneath it on the right side, as shown in the layout above.

3. Cut out a rectangle around your photos, as shown in the layout above. The border around the photos should be at least 3mm.

4. Adhere your rectangle vertically towards the right side of your page.

5. Cut out a rectangle of your lightest shade of brown cardstock to fit in the bottom left corner of your rectangle. Make sure it is not too high as you have to fit other pieces above it. Add your journaling and adhere in position.

6. Cut out five rectangles measuring approximately 3cm by 5cm from your middle shade of brown cardstock. Cut the shape of a letter out of the middle of each one to make the large word of your title. You may wish to position your letters towards the bottom of each rectangle rather than in the middle, as shown in the layout above. To draw your letters, try using a template or printing them from your computer.

7. Place your lightest shade of brown cardstock behind each rectangle from the previous step so the colour comes through the letters you have cut out.

8. Adhere your title across your page underneath your large photo, as shown in the layout above. Use small brown alphabet stickers to add other words to your title (for example, I have added the word ‘The’ above my large letters).

9. Measure the gap between the bottom of your large photo and the top of your journaling piece (mine was 3.2cm). Subtract around 6mm from this measurement (gives me 2.6cm). Now measure the length your large letters have taken (mine was 16.7cm). You now have the dimensions for the strip of Scenic Route Charlotte Brown Floral Paper that you need to cut. Once you have cut it out, ink the edges with brown ink and adhere directly underneath your large letters.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

It’s not often that I get to scrap with pink, so I loved creating this page. These tulips were a gift from James (my husband and co-owner of Stickers ‘N’ Fun) and I just thought they were so beautiful they needed to be scrapped. I chose a clean, simple design from my 500 Scrapbooking Sketches book to keep the focus on my photos. If you like it, please leave a comment for me in the comments box below.

This layout was created using purple Bazzill cardstock, Autumn Leaves Paper Ribbons paper, white cardstock, small purple alphabet stickers, Suzy’s Zoo Easter Joy stickers, Bo Bunny White Shabby Random Phrases stickers and Doodlebug Designs Love Spell stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the purple Bazzill cardstock as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Autumn Leaves Paper Ribbons paper measuring approximately 25.74cm by 23.2cm. Using a pencil, lightly mark the spot 10.5cm up from the bottom right corner and the spot 10.5cm left of the bottom right corner. Cut a straight line between these two points so you now have a triangle.

3. Glue your triangle in the bottom right corner of your page.

4. Glue your remaining piece of Paper Ribbons paper up against the left edge of your page and approximately 4.3cm from the bottom edge.

5. Use Bo Bunny White Shabby Random Phrases stickers to create a collage of words on a diagonal line between your two pieces of Paper Ribbons paper, as shown above. Keep in mind that a section of these words will be covered later with your photo.

6. Mat two vertical photos and one horizontal photo with white cardstock. Position them on your page as shown above and glue down.

7. Mat the ‘love’ sticker from Doodlebug Designs Love Spell stickers with white cardstock and glue in the top left corner of your page as part of your title. Finish off your title with small purple alphabet stickers. If you wish, you can add journaling around your page with these same alphabet stickers. For example, I have written ‘From James’ underneath the photo of the single tulip and the date in the space above my horizontal photo.

8. Add a small heart sticker from Doodlebug Designs Love Spell stickers to the right of your title and a heart outline sticker somewhere down the right side of your page.

9. Finally, place a sticker (in my case, a mouse with a tulip) in the bottom right corner of your page.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

I always seem to be pushed for time so I am constantly looking for fun and fast scrapbooking ideas to show off my photos. Beautifully co-ordinated papers make it easy to put together a layout quickly and inexpensively. This layout shows one way to create a gorgeous page in less than half an hour using only a small number of supplies!

This layout was created using Chatterbox Olive Parlor Roses Cardstock, Chatterbox Olive Parlor Argyle Paper and alphabet stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Chatterbox Olive Parlor Roses Cardstock for the background.

2. Cut the Chatterbox Olive Parlor Argyle Paper in half. Set one half aside for Step 3. Turn the remaining half over to the plain olive side and cut two strips, each approximately 1cm tall.

3. Place adhesive along one of the long edges of one strip. Adhere it to the underside of the bottom edge of the argyle paper you set aside in Step 2. The result should be a visible strip approximately 0.5cm tall along the bottom edge of your argyle paper. Repeat for the top edge of your argyle paper.

4. Adhere your argyle paper across your layout towards the top, as shown above.

5. Place your three vertical photos side by side on top of the argyle paper. If you are using 4×6 photos, they will stretch all the way across the page. If your photos are smaller, you may like to consider matting them first.

6. Finish off by creating a title in the bottom right-hand corner of your page using alphabet stickers.
