Snow Stickers

Snow stickers are the perfect embellishment for those cold, wintery photos. And they look even better when combined with scrapbooking ribbons. Reminisce stickers tend to work very well with ribbon as many designs feature ribbon buckles and other elements through which you can thread ribbon.

In this layout, I have combined snow stickers from Reminisce’s Winter Wonderland range with co-ordinating ribbon for an extra special effect.

Materials Used: Provo Craft patterned papers (blue circles, blue swirls and purple swirls), Queen and Company Winter Circles paper, two shades of purple cardstock, white cardstock, ribbon, purple brads, a purple glitter pen and Reminisce Winter Wonderland stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the darkest shade of purple cardstock as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Blue Circles paper measuring approximately 16.5cm by 30.5cm. Adhere across your page approximately 1.5cm from the top edge.

3. Cut a piece of Blue Swirls paper measuring approximately 11cm by 30.5cm. Adhere across your page approximately 2cm from the bottom edge. It should just touch your Blue Circles paper from the previous step.

4. Cut a strip of the light shade of purple cardstock measuring approximately 1.2cm by 30.5cm. Adhere it across your page over the join between your Blue Circles paper and your Blue Swirls paper.

5. Cut a piece of ribbon to go across the top of your page over the join between the Blue Circles paper and your background cardstock. Thread it through your ‘Winter Wonderland’ sticker, positioning the sticker so that it ends up towards the top right side of your page. Adhere in place.

6. Cut a second piece of ribbon, this time to go across the bottom of your page covering the join between your Blue Swirls paper and your background cardstock. Thread it through the smaller snowflakes buckle sticker, positioning the sticker so that it ends up towards the bottom right side of your page. Adhere in place.

7. Cut a piece of Winter Circles paper measuring approximately 13cm by 22.5cm. Adhere vertically on the left side of your page, as shown in the layout above.

8. Cut a circle with a diameter of approximately 11cm from the Purple Swirls paper and adhere towards the centre of your page (see above layout for exact positioning).

9. Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 15cm long. Thread the round snowy sticker through it and adhere across the bottom section of your Winter Circles paper. Use a purple brad to secure the left side of the ribbon in place (there is no need to use a brad on the right side as the right edge will end up behind your photo).

10. Mat your photos with light purple cardstock. Use a purple glitter pen to thinly outline your photo mat. When dry, position your photos as shown in the layout above and adhere.

11. Cut a rectangle of white cardstock measuring approximately 10.5cm by 10cm. Add your journaling, remembering to leave a space at the top and the bottom right corner for your snowy stickers. Adhere in the top right corner of your page, as shown in the layout above.

12. Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 11.5cm long and adhere across the top of your journaling block. Use a purple brad to secure the right side of the ribbon (there is no need to use a brad on the left side as the left edge will end up behind a sticker).

13. Finish off your page by adding the remaining snowy stickers. See the layout above for exact positioning. You may also like to include a purple brad through the hole of the ‘Chilly’ sticker to add a touch of dimension.

As you can see, the snowy stickers from Reminisce work really well with the ribbon. Of course, Reminisce stickers come in all sorts of themes. Choose your favourite and see what you can come up with.

Fun Paint Splats

This week I’ve been playing around with a mini album I am making of our visit to Tokyo Disneyland in 2006 and some fun paint splat stickers from Reminisce.

Here are some of my results.

These are the first four pages of my album. The album itself is 8×8. I have used Beary Patch Blueberry Stripes paper, Creative Imaginations Purple paper, dark blue Bazzill cardstock, light blue Bazzill cardstock, white cardstock, paper from a Disney Lilo and Stitch notepad I found in Japan, blue ink, a blue pen, Disney Store Japan Stitch stickers and Reminisce Paint Splats stickers.

These photos are of the Stitch parade that ran for a limited time at Tokyo Disneyland. One of the key elements of the parade was the notion that Stitch had been making a mess and splattering paint all over anything and everything so the Paint Splat stickers from Reminisce were perfect. They’d work well for pages of your little ones making a mess too!

Tropical Vacation Scrapbooking Ideas

Since we travel a bit, I am always looking for vacation scrapbooking ideas. So when I saw the new Tropical Journaling Boxes stickers I knew I just had to give them a go. They are so versatile. They are not only a great way to add some style to your journaling but can also form the perfect backdrop for your title, as I have done in the layout below. Do you like it? This layout was created using Kimberly Poloson Cabana Blooms paper, Creative Imaginations Pineapple paper, Me and My Big Ideas Green Stripes paper, Autumn Leaves patterned paper, KI Sand Linen paper, green cardstock, brown ink, Making Memories Green Alphabet stickers, Creative Imaginations Leaf Alphabet Epoxy stickers and Reminisce Tropical Journaling Boxes stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Kimberly Poloson Cabana Blooms paper as your background. Ink all the way around the edges with brown ink and set aside to dry.

2. Cut a piece of Creative Imaginations Pineapple paper measuring 25cm by 26.3cm. Using brown ink, ink all the way around the edges. When dry, glue to your page so that it is centred horizontally and up against the bottom edge, as shown above.

3. Cut a piece of Me and My Big Ideas Green Stripes paper measuring 16cm by 8cm. Make sure the stripes are horizontal. Using brown ink, ink all the way around the edges. When dry, glue to your page approximately 6cm from the left edge and 10.5cm from the top edge.

4. Cut another piece of Me and My Big Ideas Green Stripes paper, this time measuring 2cm by 8cm. Again, make sure the stripes are horizontal. Using brown ink, ink all the way around the edges. When dry, glue to your page approximately 6cm from the right edge and 8.6cm from the top edge.

5. Cut a piece of Autumn Leaves patterned paper measuring 4cm by 12cm. Using brown ink, ink all the way around the edges. When dry, glue vertically to your page approximately 6.4cm from the left edge and 6.4cm from the top edge.

6. Cut another piece of Autumn Leaves patterned paper, this time measuring 8cm by 7.5cm. Using brown ink, ink all the way around the edges. When dry, glue horizontally to your page approximately 4.8cm from the right edge and 3.5cm from the bottom edge.

7. Mat two horizontal 4×6 photos with green cardstock.

8. Glue your first photo to your page approximately 6.8cm from the right edge and 5.8cm from the top edge.

9. Glue your second photo to your page approximately 4.5cm from the left edge and 2.9cm from the bottom edge.

10. Mat your pineapple journaling sticker from Reminisce Tropical Journaling Boxes stickers with KI Sand Linen paper. Using brown ink, ink all the way around the edges. When dry, glue to your page so that it covers the bottom right corner of your first photo and the top left corner of your second photo, as shown above.

11. Place a letter from Creative Imaginations Leaf Alphabet Epoxy stickers towards the top left of your pineapple journaling sticker to create the start of your title. Finish off your title with Making Memories Green Alphabet stickers.

Boy Scrapbooking Stickers

These boy scrapbooking stickers from Reminisce are perfect for showcasing those special moments in your young man’s life – exploring the great outdoors, playing in the dirt, ripped jeans, grass stains and generally having fun. By combining them with a few simple techniques like inking to make your page look grubbier and distressing to create a worn effect, you can capture the perfect mood for your memories.

This layout was created using KI Dark Olive Linen paper, Scrap-Ease Marquina Marble Terra Cotta paper, KI Sand Linen paper, white cardstock, dark blue cardstock, brown ink and Reminisce Boys With Be Boys stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the purple KI Dark Olive Linen paper as your background. Ink the edges with brown ink. You may also like to smudge some brown ink across your background to reinforce your ‘boys will be boys’ theme.

2. Cut a piece of Scrap-Ease Marquina Marble Terra Cotta paper measuring approximately 18.3cm by 25.5cm. Run the edge of your scissors along the bottom and side edges (not the top) to create a distressed white edge. Scrunch up your paper and then flatten it out again. You should now have a nice worn effect. Complete the effect by making a small tear on the left edge towards the bottom left corner and on the right edge towards the top right corner. Fold back the flaps, as shown in the layout above.

3. Glue your Scrap-Ease Marquina Marble Terra Cotta paper vertically to your background so that it meets the top edge and is approximately 2cm from the left edge.

4. Cut the fire border sticker from Reminisce Boys With Be Boys stickers so that it is the same width as your terra cotta paper. Place it across your terra cotta paper approximately 1cm below the top edge, as shown in the layout above.

5. Cut a piece of KI Sand Linen paper measuring approximately 18.5cm by 25cm. Ink the edges with brown ink. When dry, glue vertically in the bottom right corner of your page.

6. Mat two 4×6 photos with white cardstock and again with dark blue cardstock. Glue one above the other approximately 5.8cm from the left edge, as shown in the layout above.

7. Cut your star border sticker into two pieces – one approximately 7cm long and the other approximately 14cm long. Place the larger piece vertically on your sand linen paper so that it is approximately 2.5cm from the right edge and the top meets the top of the paper. Place the smaller piece so that it meets the bottom edge and so that it is inline with the larger piece.

8. Select five stickers from Reminisce Boys With Be Boys stickers.
Place the largest over the gap in your star border sticker. Place the rest down the right side of your photos, as shown in the layout above.

9. Finish off by placing the ‘Mr Independent’ sticker towards the top left corner of your page, as shown in the layout above.
