Part 20

By Barbara Proietti

Patterned papers make it easy to add interest to your page without overwhelming your photo. In this layout, Barbara shows you how to combine three patterned papers while focusing on your photo.

This layout  was created using Autumn Leaves Vintage Antique Harlequin paper, American Traditional Paw Prints paper, Around the Block Dog Bark paper, brown ink, brown ribbon, alphabet rub-ons, dog bone paper clip and SRM Press Paw Prints stickers.

Use Autumn Leaves Vintage Antique Harlequin paper as your background. Cut a strip measuring approximately 17cm by 14cm out of the Around the Block Dog Bark paper and ink the edges with brown ink. Position on the right side of your page as shown in the layout above. Cut a second strip measuring 30.5cm by 7cm. Ink the edges and place along the bottom of your page. Cut a third piece measuring approximately 11cm by 5cm. Ink the edges and position on the left side of your page, as shown in the layout above.

Mat your photo with the remaining Around the Block Dog Bark paper and again with American Traditional Paw Prints paper, inking the edges with brown ink as you go. Position as shown in the layout above. Embellish your photo with a dog bone paper clip towards the top right corner.

Cut your monogram out of American Traditional Paw Prints paper and mat with Around the Block Dog Bark paper, inking the edges with brown ink as you go. Position in the top left corner of your page. Now cut your title out of Around the Block Dog Bark paper and position across the top of your page.

To finish off, place a piece of brown ribbon in the bottom right corner. Use rub-ons to add appropriate phrases and position SRM Press Paw Prints stickers around the outside edges.
