Creating handmade tags are a great way to dress up both your birthday girl stickers and your scrapbooking page. In this double-page layout we look at how to effectively combine using stickers directly on your page with dressing up your stickers with tags.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Birthday Stickers

Materials Used: Paper Garden Watermelon Plaid paper, Beary Patch Grapebeary Dot paper, green cardstock, white cardstock, pastel eyelash ribbon and Doodlebug Birthday Girl stickers.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Paper Garden Watermelon Plaid paper as your background for both pages

2. Place your border sticker down the left side of your left-hand page

3. Mat a horizontal 4×6 photo with white cardstock. This should be your primary photo. Mat again with Grapebeary Dot paper. Leave a little extra room under the photo as this is where your title will eventually go. Glue to your left page so that it is centred horizontally and is positioned towards the top edge of your page

3. Mat a second horizontal with green cardstock. Glue it towards the bottom right corner of your left page, making sure you leave plenty of room to add a birthday cake sticker later.

4. Cut another piece of Grapebeary Dot paper and glue towards the top right corner of your page, as shown in the layout above.

This will add structure to your layout and draw the different elements together. It also creates a nice balance with the purple dot mat on the left page.

5. Mat your remaining photos (one vertical, one horizontal) with green cardstock and position on your right page as shown above.

6. Cut out a journaling box from white cardstock. Add your journaling and glue on your right page below your vertical photo.

7. Before you begin decorating your layout with birthday girl stickers, construct two tags. For each tag, cut a tag shape out of green cardstock. Cut a smaller version from purple dot paper and tear it into two pieces. Glue the two pieces to your green tag so that there is a thin strip between them. Place your birthday sticker on top. Finally, punch a hole in the top of the tag and thread your eyelash fibre through.

8. Place your ice-cream sticker tag on the left page and your cupcake sticker tag on the right page, as shown above.

9. Decorate the rest of your layout with your remaining birthday girl stickers. For a fun effect, layer your gift stickers on top of each other in the bottom right corner to create a pile of presents.

When you are done you will have a bright cheerful layout to reflect the joy of a birthday celebration. The circular birthday stickers carefully arranged on your page also help create the party atmosphere.

I love to challenge myself to find new and interesting ways of using scrapbooking stickers on my layouts and I find that my combining them with other elements, I can create a completely new and fresh look for my pages. For example, in this layout, I have used some Santa Claus stickers combined with a collage of tags and other scrapbooking elements to create a unique border down the left side of my page.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Christmas Stickers

It’s a fabulous way to dress up your Christmas layouts, but the design can also be easily adapted to suit any theme.

Materials Used: Dark green Bazzill cardstock, Patchwork Cranapple Red Stripe paper, Hot off the Press Green Marble paper, White Magic Mesh, dark green cardstock, silver cardstock, white ink pad, red fibre, green brads and Sandylion Shiny Santa stickers.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the dark green Bazzill cardstock as your background. Ink the edges with white ink for added interest. When you are done, set it aside to dry while you work on the rest of your page.

2. Using a template or a punch, cut four equal sized tags from your Patchwork Cranapple Red Stripe paper. Do the same with your Hot off the Press Green Marble paper. Pair up each red tag to a green tag.

3. Cut out (or punch out) four circles from dark green cardstock and mat each one with silver cardstock for some Christmas shine.

4. Centre a Sandylion Shiny Santa sticker in the middle of each circle from the previous step.

5. Cut four squares approximately 3cm by 3cm of white Magic Mesh.

You now have all the elements you need to create your border.

6. Play around with the positioning of your tags and Magic Mesh along your border, keeping in mind the layout above. When you have decided on your placement, adhere your pieces of Magic Mesh first. Everything else will be layered on top.

7. Before adhering your tags in place, first attach a fibre to each set. Remember that each red tag should be positioned on top of a green tag. Attach your tags to your background using green brads.

8. Add your Santa Claus circles as a finishing touch.

You have now created a wonderful border down the side of your page just from a handful of sweet stickers and scraps of paper. Add your photos and any other embellishments you wish to finish the rest of your page.

I scrap a lot of photos taken at various birthday celebrations throughout the year. As a result, I have many pages embellished with birthday cakes, candles and balloons. But sometimes, when scrapbooking a birthday layout I move away from the traditional birthday motifs and choose a theme that focuses more on the personality of the birthday boy or girl. For example, I have embellished this layout with Fairy stickers.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Fantasy Stickers

The photo was taken at my niece’s birthday party, but instead of focusing on the celebrations, I wanted to focus on the young lady she was growing up to be. I chose a sophisticated colour scheme of pinks (bright pinks, not baby pinks) and browns to show her maturity and mixed in several sweet fairy stickers to show her youth. I also added character to my journaling by mixing up my fonts. Try using some of these techniques in your own pages.

Materials Used: Daisy D’s Daughter Plaid paper, Paper Garden Watermelon Ribbon Stripe paper, Bazzill Cardstock (pink and pale pink), pink cardstock, pink ric-rac, Amethyst ink pad, Petal Pink ink pad, alphabet stamps (2 fonts), pink pens, glitter and Sandylion Pink Fairy stickers.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the plain pink cardstock as your background. It will be completely covered, so the exact colour is not important.

2. Cut two strips of Daisy D’s Daughter Plaid paper each. The first should be approximately 5.5cm tall and the other should be approximately 8cm tall. Adhere the smaller strip across the top of your page and the larger strip along the bottom.

3. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo on pale pink Bazzill cardstock giving it 5mm border all the way around your photo. Mat again on pink Bazzill cardstock. This time the border should be approximately 1cm at the top and bottom and 2cm at the sides. Your photo mat should now be approximately 18cm tall.

4. Cut a piece of Paper Garden Watermelon Ribbon Stripe paper. This will be your journaling block. You will have to calculate the size of this piece based on the size of your matted photo. It should be the same height as your matted photo (approximately 18cm tall) and when placed next to your matted photo, the width of the two pieces together should add up to the width of your page (i.e. 12 inches). You may wish to make this piece slightly wider than necessary and allow your photo to overlap it once adhered to the page.

5. Now is the tricky bit – your journaling. Consider what you would like to say in your journaling and how you would like to arrange it on your journaling block. Jot it down on some scrap paper so you know what you are working with.

6. Begin with the first word of your journaling. This goes across the top of your journaling block and should be the largest word. In my case, I stamped the word ‘Ashleigh’ across the top. Try not to line up your letters perfectly – sometimes the haphazard look is much more effective.

I also stamped the letter ‘A’ on a rectangle of pale pink Bazzill cardstock, inked the edges of the rectangle with the same ink and used that for my first letter of my title to make it stand out.

7. Add the last word of your journaling across the bottom of your journaling block. Make sure you leave plenty of room on the left for the fairy tag that you will add later. The last word of my journaling is ‘pink.’ I used a different stamp set and stamped each letter on a circular piece of pale pink Bazzill cardstock. I then inked the edges of each circle with Petal Pink ink and Amethyst ink before adhering them along the bottom of my journaling block.

8. Write the rest of your journaling in between the two words you have created. Write directly on your Watermelon Striped paper with a pink pen. Every now and then, add emphasis to certain words by switching to a purple pen and writing in a larger, fancier font.

9. Select a few other words you would like to emphasise. Write these words on small pieces of pale pink Bazzill cardstock and cut into rectangles. Ink the edges of the rectangles with petal pink ink and glue in place.

10. Adhere your journaling block to the left side of your page, in between the two pieces of plaid paper you have already glued across the top and bottom of your page. It should overlap slightly with each of them.

11. Adhere your photo mat next to your journaling block. Make sure you position it so the top and bottom edges are in line with the top and bottom edges of your journaling block.

12. Cut two pieces of pink ric-rac. Adhere across your page to cover both joins between your plaid strips and your journaling block and photo mat.

13. Finally, cut four small tags from pale pink Bazzill cardstock. One should be smaller than the other three. Ink the edges with petal pink ink and punch a hole in the top. Select four Sandylion Pink Fairy stickers and adhere one in the centre of each tag. If you wish, you can add a little glitter to their wings. Thread a small piece of pink ric-rac through each hole and adhere your fairy tags as shown in the layout above.

Now you have a sophisticated page to delight any pre-teen!

Scrapbooking tags are great for embellishing a layout and easy to make with Christmas stickers. When using tags, I tend to place them a little haphazardly on a page to create a collage-like feel. However, this layout shows they can be just as effective in a balanced stream-lined layout.

Click Here To View Our Complete Range of Christmas Stickers

This layout was created using two shades of green cardstock, Patchwork Cranberry Patchwork paper, Patchwork Cranberry paper, white cardstock, white buttons, foam tape and Pebbles Inc Family Ties stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the darker shade of green cardstock as your background.

2. Tear all the way around the edges of your Patchwork Cranberry Patchwork paper so you end up with torn white edges. Adhere to the centre of your background.

3. Cut two photo mats from your lighter shade of green cardstock. The size should be slightly bigger than the size of your photos. Do NOT glue your photo to them yet. Instead, mat two sticker strips with white cardstock and then adhere across the bottom of each photo mat, as shown in the layout above. You will need to trim them to size. Now you can glue your photos in the centre of each photo mat and glue them to your background, as shown above.

4. Adhere the large tag sticker towards the top right corner of your page so that it is up against the right edge. Allow it to slightly overlap your photo.

5. Cut your title out from Patchwork Cranberry paper and adhere to the centre of your large tag. Complete your tag by placing a small white button at the top, as shown above.

6. Cut out a second tag from your light green cardstock. It should measure approximately 12cm by 7cm. Glue towards the bottom left corner of your page so that it is up against the left edge.

7. Mat the large red square sticker with white cardstock and adhere to the left side of your tag. Mat the green leaf square sticker with white cardstock and adhere towards the right end of your tag so that it still leaves some green space on your tag and overlaps the first sticker (see above for exact placement). Finish off your tag by placing a white button at the top, as shown above.

8. Mat the remaining square stickers with white cardstock. Position around your page, as shown on the layout above. Adhere the two square stickers with regular adhesive. But, use foam tape for the three stickers featuring leaves. This will add dimension to your page.

This layout was created using Provo Craft Marine Reef paper, light blue and ocean blue Bazzill cardstock, bright blue cardstock, one wide blue ribbon and a selection of thinner blue ribbons, three white eyelets, three white brads, Hot Off The Press metallic tags, light blue alphabet stickers, dark blue ink, light blue ink and Suzy’s Zoo Corky the Turtle stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Mat your Provo Craft Marine Reef Paper on bright blue cardstock so there is a thin border of blue all around your page.

2. Cut a strip of light blue Bazzill cardstock approximately 5cm tall and glue across the bottom of your page.

3. Adhere a wide blue ribbon across the join between the light blue Bazzill cardstock and the rest of your page. I have chosen a light blue ribbon with white daisies, but the choice is up to you.

4. Tie another much thinner ribbon (I have used a blue plaid) around the large ribbon towards the right side of your page, as sown in the layout above.

5. Join two small metallic tags together with a white eyelet. Place an alphabet sticker on the top tag (I have used L) to create a monogram. Use another blue ribbon to tie them to the blue plaid ribbon you have already tied around your larger ribbon.

6. Cut a tag measuring approximately 6cm by 10.5cm from bright blue cardstock and lightly ink around the edges with dark blue ink. Place a white eyelet in the centre towards the top and thread ribbon through (again, I have used a blue plaid).

7. Cut a smaller tag measuring approximately 4cm by 6cm from light blue Bazzill cardstock and heavily ink the edges with light blue ink. Again, place a white eyelet in the centre towards the top and tie a different blue ribbon through.

8. Cut a rectangle measuring approximately 5cm by 7.5cm from ocean blue Bazzill cardstock. Adhere it at an angle to your large blue tag and tuck the small blue tag in behind it. See layout above for exact positioning.

9. Place your Suzy’s Zoo Corky the Turtle stickers in the centre of the ocean blue rectangle at an angle, as shown in the layout above. Adhere another ribbon along the bottom of your tag (I have used blue plain ribbon with the words ‘Simply Adorable’ printed on it). Further embellish by placing a white brad in the bottom right corner of your tag and two side by side above your blue rectangle. See the layout above for the correct positioning.

10. Glue your finished tag at an angle in the bottom left corner of your page.

11. Mat two vertical 4×6 photos with ocean blue Bazzill cardstock. Place them at angles with one tucked behind the other in the centre of your page.

12. Cut seven small triangles from bright blue cardstock. Glue one in each corner of each photo as photo corners.

13. Finally, use light blue alphabet stickers (or letters cut from light blue cardstock) matted on bright blue cardstock to create your title in the top right corner of your page.

Scrapbooking tags are extremely versatile and can be used to dress up any page. In this article I show you how to use a series of three tags to create a simple yet elegant title.

Often the colours in our photos determine the colours of our background papers and embellishments. This would most likely have resulted in a blue page for this photo. However, I wanted to page to represent my niece’s personality at age 9. I wanted it to be very girly and pink (her favourite colour) so chose colours to complement the blue rather than match it. This is a great way to step out of the box a little and try some colour combinations you might not otherwise have had a chance to use.

This layout was created using Pixie Press Floral paper, Sonnets Leaf Linen paper, Daisy D’s Blush Gingham paper, Brown Ribbon, Sonnets Alphastamps stickers, Sandylion Wedding Alphabet stickers and Art of Scraps Wheat Tags.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Pixie Press Floral paper as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Sonnets Leaf Linen paper measuring approximately 23.5cm by 20cm. Position it on your page so that it is centred horizontally, as shown above. Do not glue down. Instead, lightly mark the area of the background floral paper you will be covering up and cut out three of the flowers from within this area. These will be used later embellish your page. Erase the marks you made and then glue down your rectangle.

3. Mat your photo with Blush Gingham paper. Position your photo on the right-hand side of your Leaf Linen rectangle and adhere.

4. Take your set of three Art of Scraps Wheat Tags. Punch a hole in the top of each one and thread your brown ribbon through. Attach the ribbon by tying a small knot. Position your three tags, one above the other, to the left of your photo and adhere.

5. Use your Sandylion Wedding Alphabet stickers and Alphastamps stickers to create your title. I suggest selecting a three word title and placing one word on each tag. If you do not want a title, you could instead use three descriptive words to describe the subject of your photo.

6. Finally, finish off your page by positioning your three flowers around the photo and title.

Baby girl scrapbooking stickers are perfect for creating cute and girly pages for your little girl. In this layout I have used several simple techniques like paper tearing and tag art to create a very sweet and pretty page. And, it’s so easy to scraplift. All you need is some pretty pink papers and some cute baby girl stickers.

This layout was created using Provo Craft Pink Paisley paper, Provo Craft Pink Stripes paper, Provo Craft Pastel Dots paper, white cardstock, purple cardstock, pink cardstock and Karen Foster It’s A Girl stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Provo Craft Pink Paisley paper for your background.

2. Cut a strip of Provo Craft Pink Stripes paper measuring approximately 3.5cm by 30.5cm. Tear along the bottom edge and adhere horizontally along the top edge of your page.

3. Cut a strip of Provo Craft Pink Stripes paper measuring approximately 9cm by 30.5cm. Tear along the top edge and adhere horizontally along the bottom edge of your page.

4. Cut a piece of Provo Craft Pastel Dots paper measuring approximately 4.5cm by 30.5cm. Adhere horizontally to your page approximately 2.3cm from the bottom edge.

5. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with white cardstock. Adhere to your page so that it is centred between your two strips of striped paper and approximately 1.5cm from the right edge.

6. Mat a vertical 3×4 photo with white cardstock. If you don’t have a smaller photo, you could make this a journaling block instead. Adhere approximately 1cm to the right of your larger photo so that the bottom edge of both photos are inline with each other.

7. Mat your pink ‘Giggle & Gurgle’ sticker with white cardstock. Adhere to the right of your photos so that the bottom edge is inline with the bottom edge of your photos. Place a small orange flower sticker towards the top left corner of your ‘Giggle & Gurgle’ sticker, as shown in the layout above.

8. Cut a tag measuring approximately 4.3cm by 7cm from purple cardstock. Cut a circle from Provo Craft Pink Stripes paper and glue in the bottom right corner of your tag, as shown in the layout above. Trim away any excess. Mat your tag with white cardstock. Cut out a section of your purple ric rac sticker and place along the bottom of the tag, as shown above. Glue your tag at an angle in the bottom left corner of your page.

9. Cut out a circle with a diameter of approximately 3.7cm from pink cardstock. Glue towards the top left corner of your tag so that it overhangs the edge, as shown above. Place your ‘It’s A’ sticker inside the circle. Finish off your tag by placing a yellow flower sticker in the middle of the top edge and an orange heart sticker towards the bottom right corner.

10. Place your ‘GIRL!’ stickers in a row next to your tag to create your title.

11. Arrange your ‘Precious Baby,’ ‘Cuddle Bug,’ duck and pink flower stickers in the bottom right corner of your page, as shown above.

12. Finally, place your ‘Am I Cute Or What!’ sticker in the top right corner of your page. Add your small yellow heart sticker to the bottom right corner of this sticker.
