With Christmas just two weeks away, I’ve really been getting into my Christmas crafts. As I mentioned last week, one thing I like to make at this time of year is Christmas scrapbooking layouts for the Christmas celebrations ahead.

Pre-making my Christmas layouts gives me the opportunity to immerse myself in this year’s festivities without having to have all my photos ready and waiting to be scrapped. And, in the new year, I can just print out my pictures and stick them straight onto my pre-made pages. I can have my Christmas memories scrapped before the back to school season even starts!

Of course, I have a million things going all at once at this time of year (tomorrow I’m testing a new recipe that I want to make for Christmas) so quick layouts are essential. Subsequently, for today’s page, I once again turned to my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches. It’s the best way I’ve found for creating pages quickly and easily while still being able to infuse my creations with my own personal style.

Click Here To Order Your 500 Scrapbooking Sketches Now

I created this layout in under an hour using Sketch #50 from my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches.

Materials Used: Green Bazzill cardstock, Sweetwater scrapbooking papers, cream cardstock, Bo Bunny Christmas stickers, green alphabet stickers and brown ink.

I made this page to showcase one special 4×6 photo. I followed the sketch exactly. It was a super-easy page to make, but I love how it turned out, especially with the stripes. Stripes are extremely versatile. As you can see, in this page, I used horizontal stripes at the side of my page. I then used the same striped paper to create my vertical stripe accent next to my photo. So simple!

My title was very simple too. I used two stickers by Bo Bunny – one that reads ‘Magic’ and another that reads ‘Christmas’. I then joined them with two little alphabet stickers that read ‘of’ to give me my title, ‘Magic Of Christmas’. You could easily create something similar with any phrase or word stickers you have lying around…or create you own title with alphabet stickers, rub-ons, cut-outs or stamps.

And, of course, since it’s a sketch, you just need to change the colours, patterns and words to create an entirely new page. In fact, I’m thinking of creating another layout just like it, but upside down.

Try playing around with the design and see what you can create. The possibilities are endless. And, this is only from one sketch! There are another 499 sketches in my collection!

The Christmas season is well and truly upon us. It’s a great time to organise some Christmas craft activities with your kids and your crafty friends. Personally, I love to use this time of year to make Christmas cards, catch up on any of the Christmas scrapbook pages I didn’t get around to making last year and pre-make some pages for this year’s photos. It’s the perfect way to remember last year’s special moments and get into the Christmas spirit for the festivities ahead.

It is a very busy time of year though. There’s always something happening and it isn’t always easy to squeeze in some craft time. As a result, I look for quick Christmas scrapbooking ideas that I can whip up in less than an hour. For this, I always turn to my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches. They always help me get started (I don’t have time to procrastinate!) and, because they give me a plan to follow, I don’t have to waste time agonising over what to do.

Click Here To Order Your 500 Scrapbooking Sketches Now

I created this layout in under an hour using Sketch #318 from my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches.

Materials Used: Cream cardstock, Magenta scrapbooking papers, Patchwork scrapbooking papers, Provo Craft Christmas sticker and Paper Pizzazz Tag Alphabet.

This is one of the pages I have pre-made for this year’s photos. I have made it to feature two 4×6 photos. The original sketch also had space in the bottom right corner for a smaller photo, but I decided to replace it with a sweet Christmas poinsettia sticker from Provo Craft. I thought it made a nice embellishment that complemented my colour scheme.

The sketch was very easy to follow. There aren’t many elements but they combine beautifully for a well-balanced page. And the best thing is, I can re-use the design as much as I like. If I change the colour scheme and the patterns, I will have a completely fresh design.

I also found that I saved a lot of time with this page by using two papers from the same paper collection. Scrapbooking manufacturers often release a collection of three, four or even more papers that all co-ordinate and can be mixed and matched with each other. By using papers designed to go together, you don’t have to take additional time going through your own stash trying to figure out which papers work with which – it’s already been done for you. It makes things so much easier and quicker!

I hope you like this design and will adapt it to your own Christmas scrapbooking projects. I’d love to see what you come up with!

And of course, this design is based on only one sketch. There are another 499 sketches in my collection!

Kawaii sticker sacks have just arrived from Japan and I just know you are going to love them! If you haven’t seen them before, they are little packets of sticker heaven bursting with kawaii cuteness! I love these stickers and I use them myself for so many different things ALL the time! (Just ask my hubby…I have them lying around all over my desk and my scrapping area!). I can’t help it. They just make me smile.

And, they make the perfect stocking fillings at Christmas. They are small, inexpensive and super cute. Sticker enthusiasts are guaranteed to love them (who else is going to give them unique stickers from Japan?) and they make fantastic gifts for your kids to give their friends at this festive time of year!

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Kawaii Sticker Sacks

Sticker sacks come in a wide range of designs so there is something to suit every taste. As you can see from just the selection above, there are cute teddy bears, pretty bows, yummy sweets and more.

Each pack usually contains 10 different individual stickers, known as sticker flakes, and 7 to 10 of each. Some even have bonus big stickers or puffy stickers.

The sticker flakes themselves can also vary greatly. Some are ordinary stickers, some are shiny and some are made from a metallic material. Each one is only around 2cm long, making them super cute and very versatile.

You can use them to decorate your paper crafting projects, dress up your mail or even embellish items around your home.

One of my favourite uses for them is to scatter a few of them inside letters and cards as a nice surprise for the recipient when they open them. It’s a wonderful way to share the spirit of giving with your friends and family and is sure to bring a smile to their faces.

Why not include a few with your Christmas cards this year? It’s a nice way to give a little gift to everyone on your Christmas card list without going broke.

Of course, there are many other uses for sticker sacks and sticker flakes – you could include them in goodie bags at children’s birthday parties, decorate the edges of a photo frame and more. You can even collect them and swap them with friends. Get some today and see where your creativity leads you.

Christmas is sneaking up on us so it’s time to start thinking about some Christmas card making ideas! Handmade Christmas cards really are the perfect way to show your loved ones how much you care by making something special just for them.

If you’re like me though, the problem is your list of cards to send is quite long and make card after card can not only be time consuming but a little draining on your creative juices.

That’s why, every year I turn to my card making sketches. They just make the whole process so much easier so it becomes a lot more fun and a lot less like a chore!

If you’re not familiar with how card making sketches work, I’ll show you:

This is a sketch from 50 Card Making Sketches:

I used this card making sketch to create this Christmas card:

Supplies Used: Green cardstock, white cardstock, red cardstock, Bo Bunny Christmas papers and Heartwarming Christmas stickers.

As you can see, my Christmas card follows the same basic design elements as the card making sketch. They both have a matted rectangle as the background, a strip down the left side and a circle as the main feature.

The sketch showed me exactly what to do so I didn’t sit there umming and ahhing over everything, but I could still express my creativity by choosing my own colours, patterns and stickers. I have even added an extra rectangle so I had a place for my sentiment.

Card sketches are so easy to use and give you a starting point for your design. You don’t have to waste time staring at blank cardstock wondering what to do. Instead you can power through that long list of Christmas cards you want to make while having fun and being creative at the same time.

This is just one of the card making sketches featured in my 50 Card Making Sketches book at:

http://50cardmakingsketches.com

If you are stuck for Christmas card making ideas this Christmas, make sure you get your copy of my Card Making Sketches. You’ll surprised at how easy making Christmas cards this year will be. And you are sure to create handmade Christmas cards your loved ones will adore and treasure.

Brand new Sticko stickers have just arrived here at Stickers ‘N’ Fun. They are by far our most popular range of scrapbooking stickers and it’s not hard to see why. The fun and sophisticated designs feature a wide range of themes and styles to suit everyone. There’s everything from Christmas favourites to back to school to summer vacation and much more (the beautiful butterflies and the adorable ladybugs are personal favourites of mine).

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Sticko Stickers

I also love that they come in a variety of types. Some are flat stickers accentuated by glitter, others are made of vellum for that soft effect, others are three-dimensional to give your layouts pop and others are made of epoxy for that extra special touch.

And scrapbooking with them is so much fun!

While looking around on Sticko’s official website, I found two gorgeous scrapbooking pages I just had to share with you. This one is my favourite:

Artist: Dana DeCarlo

This layout uses Sticko’s Christmas Trees N Stars Epoxy stickers to add a sense of Christmas cheer to an already joyful layout. I particularly love how the Christmas wreath sticker has been used in place of the ‘O’ in ‘Joy.’ So cute!

Artist: Nicole Ratzlaff

This layout uses Strawberries Epoxy stickers to embellish both the flower accents and the title to create a very sweet little girl scrapbooking layout. Using strawberries as the centre of my flowers is not something I would have thought of myself, but it’s a fabulous idea!

These are just two of the thousands of things you can do with Sticko’s unique range of stickers. Why not select your favourite designs and see what you can create!

No matter what time of year it is, I always seem to thinking about Christmas scrapbooking ideas. Perhaps it’s because I seem to take more and more photos every holiday season and have to come up with quick and easy ideas to get them all scrapped before next Christmas! Or maybe it’s just all the adorable Christmas stickers that keep coming out!

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Christmas Stickers

Whatever it is, I just really enjoy scrapbooking Christmas photos, even in the middle of July. There are always so many fantastic products to play with and you can’t help but feel happy as you look back on your precious holiday moments.

In the layout below I have combined ribbon and Christmas ornament stickers to embellish my page and re-create the Christmas atmosphere. It’s a very easy technique and can be adapted to any size layout.

Materials Used: Bo Bunny Christmas Red Tidings paper, white cardstock, thin red and white gingham ribbon, black alphabet stickers, white alphabet stickers, Heartwarming Christmas Joy stickers and Reminisce Glitter Christmas Ornaments stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Cut your Bo Bunny Bo Bunny Christmas Red Tidings paper to 8 1/2″ by 11″. Use this for your background.

2. Select three vertical photos and mat with white cardstock.

3. Arrange your photos in the middle of your page, as shown above and glue into place. Make sure you leave about 4cm space at the top of your page.

4. Select four Christmas ornaments stickers you would like to use on your scrapbooking layout. Work out their placement based on the layout above, but do not stick them down yet.

5. Cut four pieces of ribbon, one for each ornament sticker. To work out the length of each piece, measure the distance from the top of the ornament to the top of the page and add about 3cm.

6. Take the ornament from the bottom right corner and the longest piece of ribbon. Thread the ribbon through the hole in the top of the ornament sticker so that about 1cm of ribbon is stuck to the back of the sticker. Stick the sticker on your layout and glue your ribbon in a straight line up to the top of the page. Fold any excess ribbon over the top edge of the page.

7. Repeat Step 6 for the other three Christmas ornament stickers.

8. Finally, use a combination of black alphabet stickers, white alphabet stickers and Heartwarming Christmas Joy stickers to add your journaling in the bottom right corner of your page, as shown in the layout above.

This simple yet effective Christmas scrapbooking idea is perfect for showcasing any of your Christmas holiday photos.

Creating your own beautiful and personalised Christmas cards for your family and friends is a great way to kick off the Christmas season and get into the holiday spirit. It’s also an extremely rewarding craft and a wonderful way to express to your loved ones just how much you treasure them.

But with Christmas only a few weeks away, there isn’t much time left to gather your Christmas card ideas and get started making your creations.

Card sketches are the perfect place to start, especially when you are a little time pressed. They layout the basic design elements for you so that you can see at a glance what your card will look like and what you will need to create it.

They give you a short-cut to making spectacular cards while still giving you the freedom to choose your own colours, patterns and embellishments.

Get Your 50 Card Making Sketches Now

This Christmas card was made based on sketch #7 from my collection of 50 Card Making Sketches:

Materials Used: Green cardstock, patterned papers by Sweetwater and Magenta, light brown cardstock, brown ink, a brown pen, decorative-edged scissors and Star Bright stickers from Flair.

The great thing about sketches like this one is that you can adapt the design to suit your own ideas. For example, in my collection of 50 Card Making Sketches, I created a green, yellow and blue floral card to demonstrate how to use this sketch. And yet, as you can see, this card follows a Christmas colour scheme and design.

Also, the original sketch has a circular element in the bottom left corner but in this card, I have replaced the circle with two stars as I thought it was more Christmasy.

Using this sketch saved me a lot of time umming and ahhing and trying to figure out a design on my own. It gave me that starting point that I needed while still giving me the freedom to adapt it to suit my project.

This is just one example of how you can create card ideas of your own with ease by using a card making sketch.

50 Card Making Sketches features a collection of 50 unique card sketches as well as examples and full instructions on how to use them.

It’s full of ideas and inspiration to make your Christmas card making a breeze…not to mention lots of fun!

Surprise your loved with beautiful handmade cards this Christmas.

I love to challenge myself to find new and interesting ways of using scrapbooking stickers on my layouts and I find that my combining them with other elements, I can create a completely new and fresh look for my pages. For example, in this layout, I have used some Santa Claus stickers combined with a collage of tags and other scrapbooking elements to create a unique border down the left side of my page.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Christmas Stickers

It’s a fabulous way to dress up your Christmas layouts, but the design can also be easily adapted to suit any theme.

Materials Used: Dark green Bazzill cardstock, Patchwork Cranapple Red Stripe paper, Hot off the Press Green Marble paper, White Magic Mesh, dark green cardstock, silver cardstock, white ink pad, red fibre, green brads and Sandylion Shiny Santa stickers.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the dark green Bazzill cardstock as your background. Ink the edges with white ink for added interest. When you are done, set it aside to dry while you work on the rest of your page.

2. Using a template or a punch, cut four equal sized tags from your Patchwork Cranapple Red Stripe paper. Do the same with your Hot off the Press Green Marble paper. Pair up each red tag to a green tag.

3. Cut out (or punch out) four circles from dark green cardstock and mat each one with silver cardstock for some Christmas shine.

4. Centre a Sandylion Shiny Santa sticker in the middle of each circle from the previous step.

5. Cut four squares approximately 3cm by 3cm of white Magic Mesh.

You now have all the elements you need to create your border.

6. Play around with the positioning of your tags and Magic Mesh along your border, keeping in mind the layout above. When you have decided on your placement, adhere your pieces of Magic Mesh first. Everything else will be layered on top.

7. Before adhering your tags in place, first attach a fibre to each set. Remember that each red tag should be positioned on top of a green tag. Attach your tags to your background using green brads.

8. Add your Santa Claus circles as a finishing touch.

You have now created a wonderful border down the side of your page just from a handful of sweet stickers and scraps of paper. Add your photos and any other embellishments you wish to finish the rest of your page.

Christmas scrapbooking stickers are quick and easy to use and look absolutely fabulous on your scrapbooking layouts. In this layout, I have used some fun Christmas border stickers to dress up my page and capture the spirit of Christmas.

Click Here To View Our Christmas Stickers

Materials Used: Textured green cardstock, American Traditional Christmas Trees paper, Green Polka Dot paper, red cardstock, dark green textured cardstock, alphabet stickers from Sandylion and Creative Imaginations and Sandylion Christmas Icons Borders stickers.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea using Christmas scrapbooking stickers, follow these steps:

1. Use a textured green cardstock as your background.

2. Cut a piece of American Traditional Christmas Trees paper approximately 23.5cm wide. Glue down your page approximately 2cm from the right edge.

3. Place your Christmas border sticker with the wavy edge down the right side of your Christmas tree paper from Step #2, as shown in the Christmas scrapbooking idea above.

4. Place your other Christmas border sticker down the left side of your Christmas tree paper from Step #2, as shown in the Christmas scrapbooking idea above.

5. Cut a piece of Green Polka Dot paper measuring approximately 11.5 by 5.8cm. Glue up against the left edge of your page approximately 5.3cm from the top edge.

6. Cut a second piece of Green Polka Dot paper, this time measuring approximately 9.7cm by 8.3cm. Glue towards the bottom of your page approximately 0.7cm from the bottom edge and 9.5cm from the left edge.

7. Cut a third piece of Green Polka Dot paper, this time measuring approximately 5cm by 5cm. Glue towards the top right corner of your page approximately 1cm from the top edge and 2.2cm from the right edge.

8. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with dark green textured cardstock and again with red cardstock. Glue towards the top right corner of your page. It should look like the Green Polka Dot paper is peeping out from underneath the top right corner of your photo, as shown in the layout above.

9. Mat two horizontal 4×6 photos with dark green textured cardstock. Mat them again with a single mat of red cardstock. Glue towards the bottom left corner of your page, as shown above. Again, it should appear as though the Green Polka Dot paper is peeping out from underneath your photos.

10. Using alphabet stickers, stamps or rub-ons, write your title in the bottom right corner of your page.

11. Finally, scatter your remaining Christmas stickers around your page to top it off.

No matter how you celebrate Christmas, it’s always a special time of year. Make sure you capture those precious moments with your camera to include in your scrapbooks. Then scatter in some Christmas scrapbooking stickers and you’ll have an album the whole family will treasure for years to come.

3. Cut a piece of Provo Craft Blue Circles paper measuring 11.8cm by 8cm. Ink all the way around the edges with blue ink. When dry, use a blue pen to draw a dashed border, as shown above. Mat with white cardstock and glue to your card so that it is centred horizontally and is about 0.9cm from the top edge.

4. Cut a piece of Simply Cards Magazine Green Dots paper measuring 4cm by 8cm. Ink along the top edge with blue ink. When dry, glue to your card so that it creates a strip down the middle of your Blue Circles paper, as shown above.

5. Cut a piece of Chatterbox Rec Room Stripe paper measuring 15cm by 3cm. You can leave it as a rectangle or, if you like, cut the top edge in a curve as I have done (see picture above). Ink all the way around the edges with blue ink. When dry, glue along the bottom edge of your card.

6. Mat your Santa Claus Cut-Out with red cardstock and glue to your card approximately 2cm from the left edge and 2.5cm from the top edge.

7. Glue your Red Stars Cut-Out approximately 2.4cm from the right edge and 1cm from the bottom edge. It will overlap with your Santa Claus Cut-Out

8. Use a red pen to write ‘Ho Ho Ho’ in the space remaining on your Santa Claus Cut-out. If you prefer, you can use alphabet stickers, rub-ons or stamps to write your sentiment.

9. Finally, attach a white flower with a blue brad just above your Red Stars Cut-Out, as shown above.

Merry Christmas Card Idea 3: Merry Christmas Reindeer

This card was created using white Bazzill cardstock, green cardstock Kaisercraft Cheer Christmas Wish paper, a scrap of red patterned paper, Paper Garden Yellow Ribbon Stripe paper, red cardstock, green ink, black ink, red fibre, one red brad, glitter and Stickers ‘N’ Fun exclusive Merry Christmas Cut-Outs.

To recreate this card making idea, follow these steps:

1. Cut a piece of white Bazzill cardstock measuring 15cm by 20.8cm. Fold in half to create a card.

2. Turn your card so the fold is along the left.

3. Cut a piece of green cardstock measuring 9.4cm by 14cm. Glue in the centre of your card.

4. Cut a piece of Kaisercraft Cheer Christmas Wish paper measuring 8.5cm by 13.5cm. Ink around the edges with green ink. When dry, glue in the centre of your green cardstock.

5. Cut a strip of red patterned paper (any scrap will do) measuring approximately 2.5cm by 14cm. Ink around the edges with black ink. When dry, glue vertically to your card approximately 2.4cm from the left edge.

6. Wrap a red fibre around your Reindeer Cut-Out so that it sits in the space below the ‘Merry Christmas’ message, but above the reindeer.

7. Mat your Reindeer Cut-Out with red cardstock and glue vertically to your card approximately 1.4cm from the left edge and 3.8cm from the bottom edge.

8. Cut out a star shape from Paper Garden Yellow Ribbon Stripe paper. Mat with red cardstock. If you wish, cover your star with glitter for a bit of sparkle. When dry, glue at an angle towards the bottom right corner of your card, as shown above.

9. Finally, place a single red brad in the space between your red fibre and your star, as shown above.
