Now that the kids are back at school, it’s a great time to catch up on scrapbooking those wonderful summer memories. And since trips to the beach are almost an essential part of an Australian summer, I thought I would start with a fun beach scrapbooking idea.

For ideas, I turned to our amazing range of beach and summer scrapbooking stickers where you’ll find everything from sandcastles to shells, fish, seahorses and more.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Beach Stickers

The stickers I chose to use were the Doodlebug Day At The Beach stickers:

Materials Used: It Takes Two Orange fibre paper for the background, Paper Garden Baby Wide Lines paper, blue cardstock, yellow cardstock and Doodlebug Day at the Beach stickers.

I fell in love with the Doodlebug Day at the Beach stickers the moment I saw them. The colours are just gorgeous. But, I wasn’t too keen on the design of the border sticker. The arrangement of the different elements just didn’t sit right with me for some reason. So, rather than wasting it, I transformed it into a new border of my own design. Just because a sticker is made one way, it doesn’t mean you have to keep it that way!

To create my own border to go down the left side of the left page, I first cut out the tag elements from the border sticker and set them aside. I then tore a strip of blue paper and a strip of green paper (I used Paper Garden Baby Wide Lines Paper for this, but you could use any blue and green cardstock). I made sure both edges of each strip were torn as this gives the best effect. I then glued them down the left side of the left page and arranged the tag stickers on top.

Now I have a unique border that transformed something I didn’t like into something I love!

Creating the rest of this beach scrapbooking layout is easy!

I decided I didn’t want a second border on the right page, but I needed something to balance the border on the left page. So, I tore another smaller strip of blue paper and another strip of green paper (both were about 12cm long and torn along both long edges).

I placed the blue strip in the top right-hand corner of the right page, about 2cm from the top edge and right up against the side edge. I then positioned the three Sun, Sea and Sand stickers on top.

I placed the green strip in the bottom left-hand corner of the right page to mirror the blue strip. In other words, it is about 2cm from the bottom and up against the left edge of the page. I decorated this strip with the ‘Sea’ stickers.

The blue and green strips on the right side of the layout balance each other and together provide balance for the border on the left page of your layout. This helps create a visually pleasing effect overall.

But, the page is not finished yet! Next, the photos have to be matted and arranged on the layout. I placed two photos on each page, again to provide balance. I also placed a piece of blue cardstock horizontally behind my first photo. This was to enhance the photo and help it stand out from the others. It also creates a nice little area to add a bit of journaling.

Finally, I added my remaining beach stickers and voila! A bright beach scrapbooking layout to record some of your precious summer memories. And all it took was a cute sheet of beach stickers and a little bit of time!

Sandylion stickers have been around for as long as I can remember. I loved them as a kid and in fact, I had sticker albums full of them. And since I started scrapbooking, I just can’t get enough of them. There are just so many gorgeous designs to choose from and they always give my scrapbook layouts that extra special touch.

This week I created a brand new layout with one of their most adorable stickers – their Precious Moments Farm Animals stickers.

Click Here To View Our Range Of Sandylion Stickers

Materials Used: Patchwork CranApple Red Burlap paper, Sandylion Burlap paper, Paper Garden Speckle Plaid – Periwinkle paper, Colorbok Sue’s Blue Plaid paper, blue cardstock, cream cardstock, blue ink, red ink, a blue pen, blue alphabet stickers and Sandylion Precious Moments Farm Animals stickers.

This layout was fairly quick and easy to make. It’s charm lies in the combination of rich colours and the cute accents provided by my Sandylion stickers.

If you would like to try re-creating this layout, there are a couple of techniques you might like to include:

1. I matted my stickers on cream cardstock. These particular Sandylion stickers have a clear background. By sticking them on cream cardstock and then cutting them out, I gave them a thin cream border. This helps them stand out from my page and adds a sense of warmth that really captures your attention and draws you in.

2. If you look at the large squares that form most of the background, you will notice that they have white edges. To create this effect, I ran the edge of my scissors along each side. This strips some of the colour off your paper and gives it a white edge. It’s a great way to quickly add texture and interest to your scrapbooking layouts.

3. When I placed the piece of blue and white plaid paper on my page, I felt it looked a bit flat. It was missing something. I didn’t really want to mat it, but I wanted to make it look more interesting. So, I inked the edges with blue ink to give and used a blue pen to draw in a border. This helps it stand out from my page and focus attention on the area where the photos are to go.

I hope you’ll give try these techniques on your own scrapbooking layouts. I use them all the time – especially matting my stickers. I always find that matting stickers makes them that little bit extra special. It draws attention to them and helps you set the scene for your all-important photos.

This week we have a brand new range of kawaii stickers from Crux Japan, so I thought I would have some fun and use some of them to make a cute little cat-themed card. To make my card I chose to use puffy cat stickers. They were perfect for my project as they are absolutely adorable and give your cards great dimension and texture.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Crux Kawaii Stickers

I titled my card ‘Have a Purrfect Day’ and here it is:

I didn’t make this card with anyone in particular in mind. I just wanted to make something bright, colourful and happy…something that would make you smile.

The design itself is fairly simple and easy to recreate. I did add one very special touch though. If you look closely, you will see that I have removed part of the front of the card and the pink background you see above the blue strip is actually on the inside of the card.

The blue stripe creates a nice division between the front of the card and the inside and helps my little blue cat stand out. I hope you like it!

Zoo stickers are perfect for embellishing photos taken at the zoo or a wildlife park but to make your scrapbooking page successful, other elements come into play. Your choice of colours is perhaps one of your most important decisions when creating your scrapbooking layout - one that could make or break your designs.

Click Here To View Our Zoo Stickers

This quick double-page layout shows you not only how to incorporate adorable zoo stickers into your scrapbooking designs but also how to combine colour and texture with a balanced geometric design to create an eye-pleasing page.

Materials Used: Four shades of Bazzil cardstock, tan cardstock and Doodlebug Zoofari stickers.

The first step to creating this layout is effectively selecting colours that match. I began with a base colour of light brown, a colour I thought was quite appropriate for a zoo layout. I then matched three other shades of complimentary browns (two Bazzil and one normal) to it and for contrast, I selected a green Bazzill cardstock.

As I am not using a lot of overwhelming patterns on this page, I have opted to mainly use Bazzill cardstock to give my scrapbooking page texture and dimension. It allows me to keep my design simple, but not boring.

Constructing this layout is very simple. All you need to do is matt four horizontal photos and place them on your background cardstocks, as shown in the scrapbooking layout above. Then cut four strips of green cardstock and position them in the corners of your page, again, as shown above.

Finally, decorate your layout with Doodlebug Zoofari stickers or any other zoo stickers you like.

Click Here To View Our Zoo Stickers

If you wish, you can also add a small square on the right-hand page (see layout above). This could be used either for a smaller photo or journaling.

And that’s it! Another great layout in less than half an hour!
I’d love to hear what you think of this zoo stickers idea. Please leave a comment in the comments box below.

I don’t know about you, but I always seem to have lots of photos from zoos, animal theme parks and aquariums so this week I thought I would take a stroll on the wild side and experiment with some adorable new Party Animal rub-ons from Imaginisce.

Click Here To View Our Animal Rub-Ons

Materials Used: Safari Chic papers from Diecuts With A View, brown cardstock, black ink, orange ink, Disney ‘Return To The Wild’ border sticker, Disney ‘Animal Kingdom’ sticker and Imaginisce Party Animal Rub-Ons.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea using scrapbooking stickers, follow these steps:

1. Use a dark brown paper as your background. Cut it to 8 1/2 by 11 and ink around the edges with black ink.

2. Cut a strip of animal icons paper approximately 10cm wide. Ink the edges with orange ink and when dry, glue down your page approximately 1cm from the left edge.

3. Cut a piece of green paper measuring approximately 14cm by 8cm. Ink around the edges with black ink. When dry, glue horizontally to your page approximately 1cm from the right edge and 3.6cm from the bottom edge.

4. Cut a piece of orange paper measuring approximately 15cm by 18.5cm. Ink around the edges with black ink. When dry, glue vertically to your page approximately 2.7cm from the left edge and 2.2cm from the top edge.

5. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with brown cardstock and glue on top of your orange paper. It should be about 1.6cm from the top of your orange paper and 1.3cm from the left edge of your orange paper.

6. Place a lion animal rub-on across the top left corner of your photo, as shown in the scrapbooking idea above.

7. Select a ribbon, border sticker or strip of paper and place across the bottom of your page approximately 1.2cm from the bottom edge. I have used a Disney ‘Return To The Wild’ border sticker but you can use whatever you wish.

8. Place a tiger animal rub-on in the bottom left corner of your page so that it is sitting on your border strip from step #7.

9. Place a giraffe animal rub-on the right side of your page. I suggest you position it so that it is standing towards the top right corner of your green paper and its neck goes up the edge of your orange paper, as shown in the scrapbooking layout above.

10. Finally, place your title towards the bottom right corner of your photo, as shown. I have used a pre-made Disney Animal Kingdom sticker, but if you don’t have a pre-made title, you could make your own. For example, you could cut out a circle from cardstock and use alphabet stickers, stamps or rub-ons to write your title on that.
I love how the animal rub-ons compliment the theme of my page. Why not pull out some of your old photos of trips to the zoo and see what you can come up with?

Bright colours, playful alphabets and cute 3D animal stickers are the perfect ingredients for a fun scrapbooking layout. And that’s just what I have created this week – a fun vacation layout featuring a photo from our trip to the Everglades in Florida and cheeky 3D alligator stickers.

Click Here To View Our Animal Stickers

Materials Used: White Bazzill cardstock, Beary Patch Kiwiberry Stripe paper, Beary Patch Sunbeary Dot paper, blue Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug Bright Party Mix Alphabet stickers, Making Memories Green Alphabet stickers and EK Success 3D Alligator Watch stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use white Bazzill cardstock as your background. Cut it to 8 ½ x11.

2. Cut a piece of Beary Patch Kiwiberry Stripe paper measuring 15.5cm by 2.7cm. Round the top left and right corners and glue across the top of your page approximately 3cm from the left edge and 0.8cm from the top edge.

3. Mat a horizontal 4×6 photo with blue Bazzill cardstock. Glue approximately 0.4cm directly below the green strip from step #2. Keep the left side inline with the left side of your green strip.

4. Cut a second piece of Beary Patch Kiwiberry Stripe paper measuring 15.5cm by 2.7cm. Round the bottom left and right corners and glue across the bottom of your page approximately 3cm from the left edge and 0.8cm from the bottom edge.

5. Cut a piece of Beary Patch Sunbeary Dot paper 15.5cm wide. The height should be the height of the space between your photo and the green paper at the bottom of your page minus 0.8cm. Glue approximately 0.4cm directly below your photo. Keep the left side inline with the left side of your photo.

6. Place a small 3D alligator sticker at the top of your page – it should be in the bottom left corner of your top green strip, as shown above.

7. Place another small 3D sticker at the bottom of your page – it should be at the top left corner of your bottom green strip, as shown above.

8. Place a large 3D alligator sticker towards the top right corner of your yellow paper, as shown above. It should overlap your photo.

9. Finally, use alphabet stickers to write your title on your yellow paper.

This design could easily be adapted to suit your own photos. All you need are some brightly coloured papers and your favourite animal stickers. Have some fun and see what you come up with!

Animal stickers are the perfect embellishment for photos of a day at the zoo or a visit to a farm, but they can also be used to accent your every day photos. For example, I have used a cute Reminisce cow sticker to embellish this layout. While it would be a perfect page for photos of your little one with farm animals, you could just as easily use it as a little girl page or a page about your little one and their soft toys. Take a step outside the box and see what you can come up with!

Click Here To View Our Range Of Animal Stickers

Materials Used: Daisy D’s Buttercream Baby Script paper, Daisy D’s Blush Sweet Hearts paper, two shades of brown Bazzill cardstock, light brown cardstock, decorative edged scissors, brown ink, a brown pen, brown ric rac and Reminisce Farmyard Animals stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Daisy D’s Buttercream Baby Script paper as your background.

2. Cut a piece of your lightest shade of brown Bazzill cardstock measuring approximately 13.5cm by 30.5cm. Using decorative edged scissors or a punch, cut a decorative edge along the two longest sides (it doesn’t matter what pattern you choose) and then glue down your page approximately 2.3cm from the right edge.

3. Cut a piece of Daisy D’s Blush Sweet Hearts paper measuring 12cm by 30.5cm. Ink the two long edges with brown ink. When dry, use a brown pen to draw a line down the two long edges. Then glue in the centre of your brown cardstock piece from step #2, as shown above.

4. Cut four pieces of your darker shade of brown Bazzill cardstock each measuring 24.5cm by 1cm. You will use these to create a square.

5. To create your square, glue the first piece of brown Bazzill cardstock from step #4 along the bottom of your page approximately 0.3cm from the bottom edge and 0.3cm from the right edge.

6. Glue the second piece of brown Bazzill cardstock from step #4 down the right side of your page approximately 0.3cm from the right edge and 0.3cm from the bottom edge.

7. Glue the third piece of brown Bazzill cardstock from step #4 across the top of your page approximately 5.9cm from the top edge and 0.3cm from the right edge.
8. Glue the fourth and final piece of brown Bazzill cardstock from step #4 down the left side of your page approximately 5.9cm from the left edge and 0.3cm from the bottom edge. You have now completed your square.

9. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with light brown cardstock and glue to your page. It should be on top of your pink paper and within the square you have created. If you have followed my measurements, it should be about 3.9cm from the right edge of your page and 5.4cm from the bottom edge.

10. Cut a piece of brown ric rac approximately 9.8cm long. Glue horizontally underneath your photo as shown above.

11. Finish off your page by placing a cow sticker and a ‘moo’ sticker in the bottom left corner of your square.

And there you have it! A cute and versatile scrapbooking layout featuring animal stickers. Play around with your favourite animals and have fun creating some adorable layouts for your albums!

Dog stickers are the perfect embellishments for layouts of our much-loved pets. Our pets are a part of our families and deserve a special place in our scrapbooking albums. They are absolutely adorable, super cute and very cuddly, so why not reflect that in your choice of embellishments?

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Dog Stickers

Dog stickers allow you to create cute pages of your pets quickly and easily. For example, in this layout stickers were used around the edges of the page to add a sense of fun and draw your eye to the central photos.

Materials Used: Patchwork Cocoa Brown Burlap paper (for the background), American Traditional Green Paw Prints paper, Retro Squares paper, brown cardstock, cream cardstock, white cardstock, brown ink, foam tape, gold alphabet stickers and American Traditional Puppy Dog Walk stickers.

But of course, there is more to creating an album of your favourite furry animals than just your choice of stickers.

First you need to decide what you would like to include in your albums. I’m sure you have lots of just generally cute photos to choose from but you may also like to focus on specific themes or events like:

The day you first got your dog

Your dog’s first bath

Mischievous things your dog does or has done (like chewing your favourite slippers)

How you chose your dog’s name

Taking your dog for a walk

Your dog’s favourite toys

Games you play with your dog

The relationship between your dog and your children (do they snuggle up together?)

Your dog at Christmas

Your dog at the beach

Things you love about your dog

Your dog’s paw prints

The list is endless, but hopefully there are some ideas there to help get your started.

Once you’ve decided on your theme, you can get scrapping. Select your papers, cardstock, stickers and any other embellishments you want to use and start designing your layout. Don’t forget to include plenty of room for journaling – I’m sure you have lots of wonderful stories to tell about your dog.

Keep in mind that when you are selecting your dog stickers, there are two main types to choose from. The first are cute graphic stickers like those used in the layout above. They are perfect for setting the tone of your page and capturing your dog’s fun and playful nature.

But, if you want to create a more subdued or formal layout, you may prefer instead to rely on title and quote dog stickers. These are more subtle and allow you to express your emotions in words without worrying about a lot of journaling.

Examples of quotes that may be found on dog stickers include:

“My goal in life is to become as wonderful as my dog thinks I am.” – Toby & Eileen Green

“Whoever said you can’t buy happiness forgot little puppies” – Gene Hill

“A dog has the soul of a philosopher” – Plato

Whatever your style and choice of dog stickers, we have you covered.

My Mum seems to be well and truly bitten by the scrapbooking bug. This week she taken another step on her scrapbooking journey and created her third layout using stickers from our new range of Stickopotamus stickers.

She created this scrapbooking layout using Red Bazzill cardstock, Kaisercraft Bird Song Flutter paper, Kaisercraft Everblooming Blooming paper, Karen Foster Cat Tracks paper, cream cardstock, dark green cardstock, American Traditional Alphabet stickers and Stickopotamus Cat Craze stickers.

This layout features Billy – my Mum’s cat. Unfortunately Billy is no longer with us, but Mum certainly has plenty of photos to remember him by. I can see a whole cat album coming! Lol.

Mum has been quite clever in the way she has incorporated the cat stickers and bird paper into her page. Did you notice the orange cat pouncing on a bird towards the top left corner of the page? So cute!

Once again, I am so very proud of her! She created this page with very little help from me and is well on her way to becoming completely hooked on scrapbooking. Please help me continue to encourage her by leaving a comment below.

Thank you so much!

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

Click Here To View Our Range Of Horse Stickers

There are many different horse stickers to choose from. In this scrapbooking layout, I have used NRN Designs Riding Horses stickers. I have also used foam tape to add dimension and layers to my page. If you haven’t used it before, this is a great project to get you started!

This layout was created using Creative Imaginations Studded Suede paper, 7Gypsies Clock paper, Creative Imaginations Wrinkled Rust paper, scraps of different shades of brown cardstock, brown ink, foam tape and NRN Designs Riding Horses stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Creative Imaginations Studded Suede paper as your background. The saddle-like appearance goes perfectly with your horse stickers.

2. Cut a piece of 7Gypsies Clock paper measuring 24cm by 22cm and ink the edges with brown ink. Adhere to the background approximately 4cm from the top and 3.5cm from the left edge of the page

3. Mat two vertical 4×6 photos with Creative Imaginations Wrinkled Rust paper and adhere on your page towards the top of the clock paper, as shown in the scrapbooking layout above.

4. Mat several small stickers from your sheet of horse stickers with different shades of brown cardstock. Each piece will be a different size and shape. For extra variety, you may like to make one or two of them circles instead of rectangles.

5. Ink the edges of each piece from the previous step with brown ink. When dry, arrange them around the bottom right corner of your right photo, as shown in the layout above, but do not stick them down yet.

6. First, adhere the saddle square straight onto your page. Use foam tape to adhere the boots and brush around it. Then use a thicker foam tape or a double layer of tape to adhere the comb and apple. You have now created three different layers.

7. Adhere the horse sticker in the bottom left corner of your page.

8. If you like you can also add a title across the top of the page and journaling in the bottom right corner if you wish.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea using horse stickers? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.
