I don’t know about you, but I always seem to have lots of photos from zoos, animal theme parks and aquariums so this week I thought I would take a stroll on the wild side and experiment with some adorable new Party Animal rub-ons from Imaginisce.

Click Here To View Our Animal Rub-Ons

Materials Used: Safari Chic papers from Diecuts With A View, brown cardstock, black ink, orange ink, Disney ‘Return To The Wild’ border sticker, Disney ‘Animal Kingdom’ sticker and Imaginisce Party Animal Rub-Ons.

To recreate this scrapbooking idea using scrapbooking stickers, follow these steps:

1. Use a dark brown paper as your background. Cut it to 8 1/2 by 11 and ink around the edges with black ink.

2. Cut a strip of animal icons paper approximately 10cm wide. Ink the edges with orange ink and when dry, glue down your page approximately 1cm from the left edge.

3. Cut a piece of green paper measuring approximately 14cm by 8cm. Ink around the edges with black ink. When dry, glue horizontally to your page approximately 1cm from the right edge and 3.6cm from the bottom edge.

4. Cut a piece of orange paper measuring approximately 15cm by 18.5cm. Ink around the edges with black ink. When dry, glue vertically to your page approximately 2.7cm from the left edge and 2.2cm from the top edge.

5. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with brown cardstock and glue on top of your orange paper. It should be about 1.6cm from the top of your orange paper and 1.3cm from the left edge of your orange paper.

6. Place a lion animal rub-on across the top left corner of your photo, as shown in the scrapbooking idea above.

7. Select a ribbon, border sticker or strip of paper and place across the bottom of your page approximately 1.2cm from the bottom edge. I have used a Disney ‘Return To The Wild’ border sticker but you can use whatever you wish.

8. Place a tiger animal rub-on in the bottom left corner of your page so that it is sitting on your border strip from step #7.

9. Place a giraffe animal rub-on the right side of your page. I suggest you position it so that it is standing towards the top right corner of your green paper and its neck goes up the edge of your orange paper, as shown in the scrapbooking layout above.

10. Finally, place your title towards the bottom right corner of your photo, as shown. I have used a pre-made Disney Animal Kingdom sticker, but if you don’t have a pre-made title, you could make your own. For example, you could cut out a circle from cardstock and use alphabet stickers, stamps or rub-ons to write your title on that.
I love how the animal rub-ons compliment the theme of my page. Why not pull out some of your old photos of trips to the zoo and see what you can come up with?

I have to admit, when rub-ons first hit the scrapbooking market, I was a little slow to embrace them. My first love was stickers (hence, Stickers N Fun) and I wondered why I would want to upgrade to using rub-ons.

However, once I started using them, everything completely changed. I still love my stickers, but I am now truly addicted to using rub-ons as well.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Scrapbooking Rub-Ons

When you first see them, rub-ons do look a lot like stickers. They feature designs or pictures for you to embellish your layouts with. However, unlike stickers, they do not have an adhesive backing. Instead, you transfer them to your page by rubbing them with a paddle-pop stick or similar implement.

While I will continue using stickers on my scrapbooking layouts, rub-ons do have many advantages over stickers and there are many different ways you can use them to make your pages extra special.

Rub-Ons Idea 1:

The quickest way to use rub-ons on your layouts is to simply place them around your page as you would with stickers and apply them. Once applied, your rub-ons appear as if they were directly printed or painted on your layout.

For example, in the layout below, a silver ‘Magical Memories’ rub-on was placed in the bottom right corner of the page.

The rub-on looks like it is part of the background paper. There are no ugly edges or borders, giving it a sophisticated, stylish look.

Rub-Ons Idea 2:

Once you become more accustomed to using rub-ons on your layouts, you might like to play around with layering and using them to accent your other embellishments.

For example, in the layout below, a green branch rub-on has been used to embellish and draw attention to the large paper flower.

The rub-on has been positioned so that the end goes underneath the flower, making it appear as the one entity.

Rub-Ons Idea 3:

You will also notice that several of the rub-ons on the page above cross over different elements on the page. For example, the green branch rub-on sits not only on the brown background paper, but also on the photo itself.

In many cases, a sticker in the same position would end up with a crease across it where the join between different background elements occurs. Scrapbooking rub-ons do not suffer from the same problem and allow seamless transitions from one layer to the next.

Rub-Ons Idea 4:

Stickers are wonderful for applying to paper object likes scrapbooking layouts and cards, but their use is a little more limited when you are considering creating an altered item or two. Stickers won’t always stick to non-paper backgrounds.

Rub-ons, on the other hand can be applied to a wide variety or surfaces including paper, chipboard, glass, plastic, ribbon, twill, mesh or metal.

For example, when I created the magnet below, I used a rub-on to add a pink swirl across my button.

These are just a handful of ideas for using scrapbooking rub-ons. There are many more that I look forward to sharing with you throughout the year.

I’d also love to hear any tips or ideas you have for using scrapbooking rub-ons on your layouts. Please leave a comment in the comments box below.

K&Company never ceases to amaze and inspire me. Their designs are always innovative and cover a wide range of styles from muted and refined elegance to vibrant and bold playfulness.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of K&Company Products

Most K&Company collections are quite extensive and feature a wide variety of matching products. For example, one collection might include papers, glitter papers, embossed papers, stickers, epoxy stickers, 3D stickers, rub-ons, chipboard, tags, tape, die-cuts and more all beautifully co-ordinated with each other. It makes it so easy for us scrappers to mix and match (although I love to make up my own combinations as well!).

I have a particular weakness for their rub-ons. Many are accented with glitter for that extra sparkle and some come with rhinestones to give your scrapbooking layouts a bit of bling. They are stunningly detailed and very easy to use.

For example, in this layout I have used rub-ons from the K&Company Amy Butler Lotus collection:

Materials Used: Blue Bazzill cardstock (for the background), Pebbles Inc Theodore Circle paper, Creative Imaginations Unit 22 paper, Stemma Milestones paper, Scenic Route Charlotte Canal Street Floral paper, 7Gypsies Boulogne paper, Foofala Brown Ivy paper, white cardstock, pink ink, Doodlebug Bubble Blue Hopscotch Alphabet stickers, Paper House Beach Alphabet stickers and K&Company Lotus Rub-Ons W/ Gems.

As you can see, I have used several rub-ons all over my layout to embellish and highlight my photos.

Apart from the photos, my main feature of the page is the collection of flowers, rub-ons and rhinestones in the bottom right corner of my large photo:

To re-create this collection:

1. Cut out a large flower shape from Foofala Brown Ivy paper. It should be about 8cm in diameter. Carefully scrunch it up and then flatten it again. Ink all the way around the edge with pink ink. Also smear some ink across the face of the flower and set aside to dry.

2. Cut out three circles from Foofala Brown Ivy paper. The first should be slightly smaller than your flower (maybe 5.5cm in diameter), the next slightly smaller than that and the next smaller still. Carefully scrunch each one up and then flatten again. Ink all the way around the edge with pink ink and smear some ink across the face of each circle. Set aside to dry.

3. Place your flower in the bottom right corner of your photo, but do not glue down. Take note of its position. Apply your K&Company green branch rub-on so that when the flower is glued down, it will look like it is sitting on top of the end of the branch, as shown in the picture above. You may also want to add a small green butterfly rub-on, as shown above.

4. Glue your flower in place. Layer your three circles on top of it and glue in place.

5. Cut out a second, smaller flower from Foofala Brown Ivy paper. It should be about 4.5cm in diameter. Again, carefully scrunch it up and then flatten it. Ink all the way around the edge with pink ink and smear some ink across the face of the flower. When dry, glue above and to the right of your large flower, as shown above.

6. Cut a circle approximately 2cm in diameter from Foofala Brown Ivy paper. Carefully scrunch it up and flatten. Ink all the way around the edge with pink ink and smear some ink across the face of the circle. When dry, glue in the centre of the flower from the previous step.

7. Finally, embellish with rhinestones from your K&Company rub-ons by positioning them in curved lines coming out from your large flower, as shown above.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of K&Company Products

K&Company designs are extremely versatile and easily adaptable to suit many different styles of scrapbooking and different themes. For example, I could just as easily have used these rub-ons to decorate a page about my beautiful nieces, flowers, butterflies, a picnic or even my wedding. And of course, they could also be used when making cards or other off-the-page projects.

As always, the key to a fabulous layout is to use photos and products that you love and, to quote the K&Company rub-ons used here, “Do What You Love” and “Love What You Do.”

Last week my Mum attempted her very first scrapbooking layout. Thank you so much to everyone for all of your kind words and encouragement. They really mean a lot to both her and me.

Mum has now taken her second step on her scrapbooking journey and I wanted to share it with you too (call it Proud-Daughter Syndrome!). So here it is…

She created this scrapbooking layout using Basic Grey Jackson Oh Baby Boy paper, Pebbles Inc Winter Circles/Stripe paper, dark blue cardstock, white cardstock, a black pen, blue alphabet stickers and Piggy Tales Flowers & Bugs Rub-Ons.

Click Here To View Our Range Of Rub-Ons

Mum saw our new Piggy Tales Flowers & Bugs Rub-Ons and thought they would be perfect for a garden layout. This layout shows my grandfather at one of the things he did best – tending to his garden.

Mum had never used rub-ons before, but thought she’d give them a go. She soon realised how simple they are to use and I love what she has done with them. I thought the way she used the circles in the background paper to emphasise some of the rub-ons (like the ant in the bottom left corner) was very clever and the ladybug footprints across the bottom of one of the photos is so cute!

Once again, I am so very proud of her! Please continue to help me encourage her to scrap by leaving a comment below.

Thank you so much!

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the dark purple Bazzill cardstock as your background.

2. Cut a strip of Doodlebug Lilac Sweet Stripes paper measuring 1.5cm by 30.5cm. Make sure when your strip is vertical, the stripes are horizontal. Ink around the edges with purple ink and when dry, glue vertically down your page approximately 3.3cm from the left edge.

3. Cut a second strip of Doodlebug Lilac Sweet Stripes paper measuring 1.5cm by 30.5cm. Again, make sure when your strip is vertical, the stripes are horizontal. Ink around the edges with purple ink and when dry, glue vertically down your page approximately 14.5cm from the left edge.

4. Cut a piece of Karen Foster Purple Houndstooth paper measuring 11.5cm by 30.5cm. Ink around the edges with purple ink and when dry, glue vertically down your page so it is centred between your two pieces of purple stripes paper.

5. Crop two horizontal 4×6 photos down to 11.8cm by 9.4cm and mat with white cardstock. Glue the first one to your page approximately 1.1cm from the left edge and 6.5cm from the top edge. Glue the second one directly underneath.

6. Mat a vertical 4×6 photo with white cardstock. Glue next to and in line with the first photo from the previous step.

7. Mat a horizontal 4×3 photo with white cardstock. Glue underneath and in line with the photo from Step #6. You should now have an arrangement of photos resembling that shown in the scrapbooking layout above.

8. Place your title in the top left corner of your page. To create mine, I have mixed Doodlebug Sea Glass Alphabet stickers and Doodlebug White Alphabet stickers. I have also added to miscellaneous star stickers and a Mickey ears sticker for extra embellishment as they suit my theme.

9. Place your ‘Magical Memories’ rub-on from Creative Imaginations Silver Magic Memories Rub-Ons in the bottom right corner of your page. If you have not used rub-ons before and are not sure how to apply them, please visit my Using Rub-Ons Tutorial at:

http://www.stickersnfun.com/scrapbooking-rub-on-transfers/

10. Place your 3D Tinkerbell sticker above your rub-on, as shown in the layout above.

11. Finally, randomly place silver star stickers (mine are from Jolee’s 3D Tinkerbell stickers) around your page for extra embellishment.

Click Here To View Me And My Big Ideas Retreat Rub-Ons

This layout was created using light brown paper, dark brown Bazzill cardstock, dark brown cardstock, Ruby Berry Flower paper, a brown pen, Beary Patch Red Alphablocks stickers, Creative Imaginations Coloured Circles Alphabet stickers, Junkitz Earth Alphabet rub-ons and Me And My Big Ideas Retreat Rub-Ons.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the light brown cardstock as your background.

2. Using a brown pen, drawn a border of squiggly lines all the way around your page approximately 1cm from the edge. Make sure it’s nice and messy!

3. Cut a strip of dark brown Bazzill cardstock approximately 13.5cm wide. Glue vertically to your page about 2.5cm from the right edge.

4. Glue a vertical 5×7 photo to your dark brown strip from the previous step, as shown in the layout above. It should be approximately 3.9cm from the top edge.

5. Cut a piece of Ruby Berry Flower paper measuring 12.7cm by 3.5cm. Glue in the space above your photo. The side edges should be inline with the side edges of your photo and the top edge should be up against the top edge of your page.

6. Cut a second piece of Ruby Berry Flower paper, this time measuring 12.7cm by 8.3cm. Glue in the space below your photo. Again, the side edges should be inline with the side edges of your photo and the bottom edge should be up against the bottom edge of your page.

7. Place the green dandelion rub-on down the left side of your page. When you are happy with it’s position, rub it on to your page.

8. Cut out the first letter of your title from dark brown cardstock and glue underneath the head of the dandelion, as shown above. Use a combination of alphabet stickers, rub-ons and cut-outs to create the rest of your title. (I have used Beary Patch Red Alphablocks stickers, Creative Imaginations Coloured Circles Alphabet stickers, Junkitz Earth Alphabet rub-ons and letters cut out from dark brown cardstock).

9. Place the red bird rub-on above your title so that the bird is looking at the head of your dandelion. When you are happy with it’s position, rub it on to your page.

10. Take the smallest red flower rub-on and cut off a length of stem approximately 5.5cm long. Place underneath your title (like an underline).

NOTE: If you wish to add journaling to your page, underneath your underline is a great space.

11. Decorate the area around your title with red and green flower rub-ons.

12. Place the larger of the two single-stemed red rub-ons in the bottom right corner of your page so that the stem goes up along the edge of your brown cardstock. When you are happy with it’s position, rub it on to your page.

13. Finally, take the remaining section of the red rub-on you cut in step #10 and create a branch on the rub-on the bottom right corner of your page, as shown above.

Scrapbooking rub on transfers are always a big hit, but I am often asked about the process of transferring them to your layouts and how to make sure your scrapbooking rub-ons look fabulous every time. So, I thought it was time I provided you with an easy-to-follow step by step guide. So here it is!

Step 1:

Always cut out the individual rub on you wish to use from the sheet. If you don’t, it is very easy to transfer unwanted sections of other rub-ons onto your page and they are often impossible to remove.

Step 2:

Remove the backing paper from the back of your rub on and position your rub on wherever you want it to appear on your project.

Step 3:

Using a paddle pop stick, thoroughly rub over the entire image. Do not be afraid of rubbing too much – you want your rub on to completely transfer to your background. Make sure you hold your rub on firmly in place so it does not move.

Step 4:

Very slowly pull the transfer paper up from your rub on a little at a time. Do not remove the whole sheet at once as you may need to fix up your rub on.

The image should have completely transferred, but if you see an area where it has not, place the transfer paper back down and continuing rubbing. Once you are sure the rub on transfer is complete, remove the transfer paper.

Step 5:

Enjoy your new masterpiece!

Doodlebug stickers are among my favourite types of stickers. They are always playful and fun, but sometimes they can also be adapted to suit more sophisticated and elegant layouts. On this layout I have used bright pink and red romance stickers from Doodlebug and combined them with muted tones and flourish rub-ons to create a more formal and stylish look.

This layout was created using brown Bazzil cardstock, pink patterned paper from Scrapbooking Memories magazine, pink cardstock, ribbon, Creative Imaginations Pink Alphabet stickers, Junkitz Alphabet Rub-ons, Basic Grey Flourishes Rub-ons, dark brown ink and Doodlebug Designs Sweet Things stickers.

Click Here To View Doodlebug Designs Sweet Things Stickers

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the brown Bazzil cardstock as your background.

2. Cut a piece of pink patterned paper measuring approximately 21cm by 27.5cm. Adhere vertically to the left side of your page, as shown in the layout above.

3. Mat a vertical 5×7 photo with pink cardstock. Adhere to your page approximately 3.5cm from the top edge and 3cm from the left edge.

4. Glue a piece of ribbon across the bottom of your page about 3.5cm above the bottom edge.

5. Select three heart-shaped stickers and two circular stickers from your Doodlebug Designs Sweet Things stickers. Adhere them along your ribbon equal distances apart, as shown in the layout above.

6. Place the letters of the word ‘Love’ from Doodlebug Designs Sweet Things stickers to the right of your photo.

7. Use Junkitz brown alphabet rub-ons to write the word ‘is’ to the right of the word ‘Love’ from the previous step.

8. Create the last word of your title with Creative Imaginations pink alphabet stickers. Mat each letter with white cardstock and ink the edges with dark brown ink to make them stand out. When dry, glue to your layout below the first two words of your title.

9. Adhere two pink heart stickers in the top left corner of your title area, as shown in the layout above.

10. Finally, finish off your page with Basic Grey Flourishes Rub-ons. I have placed a rub-on on the top and bottom left corners of the photo. I also placed a long rub-on below my title and embellished with a few extra swirls. Play with the combinations and see what you come up with!

Scrapbooking rub-ons are perfect for that final special touch on your layouts. They give you the ability to add a sense of fluidity to your page by their ability to cross layers seamlessly. Of course, the fact that many of them are swirls and twirls also helps. The biggest problem comes when the brilliant colours of your background papers just swallow them up so you can hardly see the designs. This is precisely what happened with this page. I could have just not used them, but instead I decided to embellish my rub-ons so they would stand out. What do you think?

This layout was created using Urban Lily Sushi Dot paper, Daisy D’s Barn School Book Check paper, KI Expecting Chic Plaid paper, KI My Guy Chick Plaid paper, Karen Foster Red Christmas Stripes Paper, Basic Grey Urban Couture Loselle Paper, Patchwork Chocolate Brown Plaid paper, Hot Off The Press Red Fabric paper, cream cardstock, a black pen, brown ink, brown alphabet stickers, cream brads, Bo Bunny Barn Red Linen Alphabet Tags stickers and Bo Bunny Greenhouse Rub-Ons.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use Urban Lily Sushi Dot paper as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Daisy D’s Barn School Book Check paper measuring approximately 27cm by 22.8cm. Run the edge of your scissors or sandpaper along the top, bottom and left edges to give a white edge. This will help it stand out from the background.

3. Place your Barn paper horizontally on your background so that it is up against the right edge of your page and approximately 3.8cm from the bottom edge. Do NOT glue in place. Instead, take note of the area of Sushi Dot paper you are covering. From within that area, cut out one blue flower circle, one red flower, one white flower, one blue flower circle (without the outer circles) and at least nine small blue circles. Make sure you leave a brown border around each one as you cut them out.

PLEASE NOTE: If you don’t want to cute out the small blue flowers, you could always use a punch to create similar shapes with blue cardstock.

4. Put the flowers aside and glue your Barn paper in place (up against the right edge of your page and 3.8cm from the bottom).

5. Cut a piece of KI Expecting Chic Plaid paper measuring approximately 13.5cm by 25.8cm. Run the edge of your scissors or sandpaper along the top, bottom and left edges to give a white edge. Glue to your background vertically about 0.5cm from the right edge and 2.2cm from the bottom edge.

6. Cut a piece of Karen Foster Red Christmas Stripes Paper measuring approximately 7.5cm by 10cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue vertically to your background about 5.5cm from the top edge and about 7.5cm from the right edge.

7. Cut a piece of Basic Grey Urban Couture Loselle Paper measuring approximately 19cm by 11cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue horizontally to your background about 4.5cm from the bottom edge and 4cm from the left edge.

8. Cut a piece of Patchwork Chocolate Brown Plaid paper measuring approximately 19cm by 2.2cm. Run the edge of your scissors or sandpaper along the top, bottom and left edges to give a white edge. Glue horizontally to your background about 5.3cm from the bottom edge and 4cm from the left edge.

9. Cut a piece of KI My Guy Chic Plaid paper measuring approximately 7.5cm by 27.3cm. Run the edge of your scissors or sandpaper along the top, bottom and left edges to give a white edge. Glue to your background vertically about 1.2cm from the right edge and 1.5cm from the bottom edge.

10. Mat three photos with cream cardstock.

11. Glue your vertical photo to your page approximately 1.7cm from the right edge and 8cm from the bottom edge.

12. Glue your large horizontal photo to your page approximately 4.2cm from the left edge and 6.6cm from the top edge.

13. Glue your small horizontal photo to your page approximately 8.1cm from the left edge and 6.9cm from the bottom edge. Your measurements may vary a little. Aim for the right edge of both horizontal photos to be inline with each other.

14. Glue your large white flower at an angle in the top right corner of your page, as shown in the layout above.

15. Cut a piece of cream cardstock measuring approximately 10.5cm by 3.5cm. Using a black pen, add your journaling to the centre. Ink the edges with brown cardstock and when dry, glue in the top right corner of your page so that it is up against the right edge and approximately 3.2cm from the top edge.

16. Embellish your journaling by adding a small blue flower above it, as shown in the layout above. Also, place a large blue flower below it so that it overlaps with your journaling block and the photo below. Trim away any excess overhanging the page.

17. Now it’s time to add your Bo Bunny Greenhouse Rub-Ons. First, add the hanging down flowers. Position them next to your journaling block. The large flower should slightly overlap with your photos. Second, add the swirls and leaves rub-onto to the bottom right corner of your vertical photo. Finally, add the flower bursts rub-on in the space next to your small horizontal photo. See the layout above for precise positioning.

18. Cut a tag measuring approximately 6.3cm by 8.2cm from KI My Guy Chick Plaid paper. Run the edge of your scissors or sandpaper along the top, bottom and left edges to give a white edge. Draw a thin black border around the inside of the tag with a black pen. Glue at an angle in the bottom left corner of your page.

19. Cut a large letter (or in my case, number) from the Hot Off The Press Red Fabric paper (any deep red paper will do). This will be the first letter/number of your title. Mat with cream cardstock and glue to the centre of your tag.

20. Place brown alphabet stickers directly below your small horizontal photo to complete the first word of your title.

21. Place Bo Bunny Barn Red Linen Alphabet Tags stickers directly below your first word to complete the second word of your title. Put a cream brad through the top of each tag sticker.

22. Place your large blue flower circle in the bottom left corner so that it overlaps slightly with your vertical photo and rub-on. Position your large red flower next to it, and a small blue flower in the remaining space.

23. Finally, add small blue flowers to embellish both the flower burst rub-on and the swirls and leaves rub-on, as shown in the scrapbooking layout above.

I love scrapbooking ideas that use layering techniques. Layering is a very simple concept, but often can make the difference between a good layout and a great layout. By adding layers, you create a fusion of colours and patterns that give your page texture and depth. In this page, I have used eight different papers and cardstock to create a setting for my photos and embellished with flowers I made myself and rub-ons. As well as creating a stunning page, this is a great technique for using up some of those scraps you have lying around.

This layout was created using Daisy Bucket Designs Bentley Place paper, Paper Pleasure Plus Waldorf Green Lilly Pilly paper, Scrapworks Skinny Diode Poetry paper, Patchwork Chocolate Argyle Plaid paper, Masterpiece Studios Treasured Memories paper, Karen Foster Red Christmas Stripes Paper, Scenic Route
Newport Chestnut Dots Paper, Daisy D’s Khaki paper, dark brown cardstock, light brown cardstock, brown ink, a black pen and Imaginisce Leaves Rub-Ons W/ Rhinestones.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use Daisy Bucket Designs Bentley Place paper as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Paper Pleasure Plus Waldorf Green Lilly Pilly paper measuring approximately 30.5cm by 19.5cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue horizontally to your background about 5.5cm from the bottom.

3. Cut a piece of Scrapworks Skinny Diode Poetry paper measuring approximately 15.5cm by 24.5cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue vertically to your background about 3cm from the bottom edge and 5cm from the right edge.

4. Cut a piece of Patchwork Chocolate Argyle Plaid paper measuring approximately 8cm by 2.5cm. (Please note: Any scrap of dark brown paper will work here). Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue horizontally to your background about 9.5cm from the top edge and 6.7cm from the right edge.

5. Cut a piece of Masterpiece Studios Treasured Memories paper measuring approximately 16.5cm by 9cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue horizontally to your background about 6.5cm from the top edge and up against the left edge.

6. Cut a piece of Karen Foster Red Christmas Stripes Paper measuring approximately 23.5cm by 9.5cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue horizontally to your background about 6.5cm from the bottom edge and up against the left edge.

7. Cut a piece of Scenic Route Newport Chestnut Dots Paper measuring approximately 13.7cm by 11cm. Ink the edges with brown ink and when dry, glue horizontally to your background about 7.2cm from the bottom edge and 0.7cm from the right edge.

8. Mat both your photos (I have used two 4×6 photos) with light brown cardstock.

9. Glue the vertical photo on the left side your page, approximately 1.2cm from the left edge and 7cm from the bottom edge.

10. Glue the horizontal photo on the right side your page, approximately 2cm from the right edge and 8.5cm from the bottom edge.

11. Cut a piece of tan cardstock measuring approximately 13.5cm by 4cm. Use a black pen to write your journaling on this piece. Ink the edges with brown cardstock and when dry, glue to your page approximately 1.5cm from the bottom edge and up against the right edge. Make sure it is just touching the Waldorf Green Lilly Pilly paper – close enough so there is no gap between them but so you can still see the inking on the Waldorf Green Lilly Pilly paper.

12. Cut three different sized flowers from Daisy D’s Khaki paper. Crumple each one up in your hand, being careful not to tear them. When they are crumpled enough, flatten them out again. They should now look nice and worn. Ink the edges with brown ink. Cut out circles from the Scrapworks Skinny Diode Poetry paper and glue one inside each flower to create the flower centre. Glue the largest flower in the top right corner of your page and the other two in the bottom left corner, as seen in the layout above.

13. Cut out your title from dark brown cardstock and arrange above your horizontal photo.

14. Finally, finish off by decorating your page with Imaginisce Leaves Rub-Ons, as shown in the scrapbooking layout above.
