With Christmas just two weeks away, I’ve really been getting into my Christmas crafts. As I mentioned last week, one thing I like to make at this time of year is Christmas scrapbooking layouts for the Christmas celebrations ahead.

Pre-making my Christmas layouts gives me the opportunity to immerse myself in this year’s festivities without having to have all my photos ready and waiting to be scrapped. And, in the new year, I can just print out my pictures and stick them straight onto my pre-made pages. I can have my Christmas memories scrapped before the back to school season even starts!

Of course, I have a million things going all at once at this time of year (tomorrow I’m testing a new recipe that I want to make for Christmas) so quick layouts are essential. Subsequently, for today’s page, I once again turned to my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches. It’s the best way I’ve found for creating pages quickly and easily while still being able to infuse my creations with my own personal style.

Click Here To Order Your 500 Scrapbooking Sketches Now

I created this layout in under an hour using Sketch #50 from my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches.

Materials Used: Green Bazzill cardstock, Sweetwater scrapbooking papers, cream cardstock, Bo Bunny Christmas stickers, green alphabet stickers and brown ink.

I made this page to showcase one special 4×6 photo. I followed the sketch exactly. It was a super-easy page to make, but I love how it turned out, especially with the stripes. Stripes are extremely versatile. As you can see, in this page, I used horizontal stripes at the side of my page. I then used the same striped paper to create my vertical stripe accent next to my photo. So simple!

My title was very simple too. I used two stickers by Bo Bunny – one that reads ‘Magic’ and another that reads ‘Christmas’. I then joined them with two little alphabet stickers that read ‘of’ to give me my title, ‘Magic Of Christmas’. You could easily create something similar with any phrase or word stickers you have lying around…or create you own title with alphabet stickers, rub-ons, cut-outs or stamps.

And, of course, since it’s a sketch, you just need to change the colours, patterns and words to create an entirely new page. In fact, I’m thinking of creating another layout just like it, but upside down.

Try playing around with the design and see what you can create. The possibilities are endless. And, this is only from one sketch! There are another 499 sketches in my collection!

The Christmas season is well and truly upon us. It’s a great time to organise some Christmas craft activities with your kids and your crafty friends. Personally, I love to use this time of year to make Christmas cards, catch up on any of the Christmas scrapbook pages I didn’t get around to making last year and pre-make some pages for this year’s photos. It’s the perfect way to remember last year’s special moments and get into the Christmas spirit for the festivities ahead.

It is a very busy time of year though. There’s always something happening and it isn’t always easy to squeeze in some craft time. As a result, I look for quick Christmas scrapbooking ideas that I can whip up in less than an hour. For this, I always turn to my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches. They always help me get started (I don’t have time to procrastinate!) and, because they give me a plan to follow, I don’t have to waste time agonising over what to do.

Click Here To Order Your 500 Scrapbooking Sketches Now

I created this layout in under an hour using Sketch #318 from my collection of 500 Scrapbooking Sketches.

Materials Used: Cream cardstock, Magenta scrapbooking papers, Patchwork scrapbooking papers, Provo Craft Christmas sticker and Paper Pizzazz Tag Alphabet.

This is one of the pages I have pre-made for this year’s photos. I have made it to feature two 4×6 photos. The original sketch also had space in the bottom right corner for a smaller photo, but I decided to replace it with a sweet Christmas poinsettia sticker from Provo Craft. I thought it made a nice embellishment that complemented my colour scheme.

The sketch was very easy to follow. There aren’t many elements but they combine beautifully for a well-balanced page. And the best thing is, I can re-use the design as much as I like. If I change the colour scheme and the patterns, I will have a completely fresh design.

I also found that I saved a lot of time with this page by using two papers from the same paper collection. Scrapbooking manufacturers often release a collection of three, four or even more papers that all co-ordinate and can be mixed and matched with each other. By using papers designed to go together, you don’t have to take additional time going through your own stash trying to figure out which papers work with which – it’s already been done for you. It makes things so much easier and quicker!

I hope you like this design and will adapt it to your own Christmas scrapbooking projects. I’d love to see what you come up with!

And of course, this design is based on only one sketch. There are another 499 sketches in my collection!

Finding time to devote to your scrapbooking albums can be a struggle, even for the most devoted scrapper. We all get caught up in the whirlwind of life. There’s always something to take attention away from our craft. So, when we finally do find time to scrap, it is important to make the most of that time. The more pages we can finish (and be proud of) the better, right?

It is possible to achieve more in the time we have to scrap. All we need to do is shift our approach to scrapping just a little and employ a few very simple techniques. Give them a try and you are sure to be creating layouts faster and with ease.

1. Be organised! The biggest time saving tip that I can give you is to keep your scrapbooking supplies in some kind of order. How you organise your supplies is up to you but make sure you know where all your supplies are and that they are all easily accessible. That way you don’t have to go searching through everything every time you scrap. Plus, it will be a quick and easy clean up after each project so you are not confronted with a big mess next time you sit down to scrap.

Different systems work for different people. Personally, I organise my supplies by type (eg paper in one place, stickers in another, ribbon in another etc) and then by colour. Find the method of organisation that suits your scrapbooking style.

2. Use multiple photos. I know that pages featuring one photo can look simply stunning and are a lot of fun to make. But, if you ensure a majority of your pages include more than one photo you will move through your photos much faster and maybe even finish off some of those albums sitting on your shelf. With more photos on the page you will also find each layout takes less time to embellish as you simply don’t have as much space leftover to embellish.

3. Use pre-made alphabets. Whether they be alphabet stickers, rub-ons or die-cuts, pre-made alphabets can save you enormous amounts of time by making your titles quick and simple to assemble. Stamping or even cutting out your own letters can be very effective but quite time-consuming. If you use a lot of letters you may like to consider purchasing a personal die-cutting machine like a Sizzix or a Cricut and several alphabet dies.

4. Use scrapbooking sketches. Sketches give you easy to follow templates that can be applied to any type of layout. They take the guesswork out of planning your pages and can be huge time savers. Consider investing in a copy of my 500 Scrapbooking Sketches collection so you always have ideas to refer to.

5. Finally, don’t be a perfectionist. Scrapbooking is not about creating the perfect page design. It’s about treasuring the important memories in your life and being able to re-live them and share them with others for many years to come.

If you have any time saving tips for scrapbooking, we’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment in the comments box below.

I tend not to use many pinks, purples or yellows on my scrapbooking pages (I use lots of greens, browns and reds) but Easter scrapbooking ideas present a fabulous opportunity to branch out and play with some new colour combinations and fun Easter stickers.

Click Here To View Our Full Range Of Easter Stickers

This Easter scrapbooking idea is very quick and easy to recreate. It uses two bright and colourful patterned papers, cheerful Easter stickers and some doodling.

Materials Used: Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripe paper, Beary Patch Grape Spots cardstock, pink cardstock, cream cardstock, purple alphabet stickers, a purple pen and Suzy’s Zoo Easter Joy stickers.

Doodling is a great way to add personality to your page and highlight your photos. In this layout I have used very simple doodling to frame my page. If you are shy of adding doodling to your page, start with something simple like this. You can even use a template as a guide to help you!

To recreate this Easter scrapbooking idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the pink cardstock as your background.

2. Cut three strips of Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripe paper each approximately 6.8cm tall. Make sure that when the strip is placed horizontally, the stripes are vertical. Adhere the first strip horizontally across the centre of your page. Adhere another one approximately 2.5cm above it and the other 2.5cm below it.

3. Using a purple pen, draw a frame around your page. If you are not comfortable doodling free-hand, try using a template or stitching your frame. I have used a scallop shape for my Easter scrapbooking idea, but you can use whatever you want – straight line, dashed line, zig-zag etc.

4. Cut a piece of Beary Patch Grape Spots cardstock measuring approximately 24cm by 18cm. Adhere to your page approximately 5cm from the top and 1.5cm from the right edge.

5. Cut two pieces of cream cardstock large enough to be your photo mats. Glue vertically and side by side in the centre of your Grape Spots cardstock from the previous step.

6. Cut a square of Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripe paper measuring approximately 7cm by 7cm. Place in front of you so the stripes are horizontal. Tear in half along the diagonal from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. so that the stripes are horizontal. Adhere one half to the top left corner of the left photo mat and the other to the bottom right corner of the right photo mat.

7. Adhere your photos in the centre of your photo mats.

8. Use purple alphabet stickers to write your title below your photo mats.

9. Finally, accent your Easter scrapbooking ideas with Easter stickers in the top right corner and bottom left corner of your page.

Simplicity is the key to quick scrapbooking ideas. By minimising the number of supplies you are using and sticking to a straight-lined balanced page it is very easy to create a sophisticated layout in a short amount of time. Here is an example of a scrapbooking layout you can put together yourself in under half an hour.

This layout was created using Scenic Route Charlotte Hill Stripe Paper, Scenic Route Charlotte Brown Floral Paper, three shades of brown cardstock, brown ink and small brown alphabet stickers.

Click Here To View Scenic Route Charlotte Hill Stripe Paper
Click Here To View Scenic Route Charlotte Brown Floral Paper

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the underside of the Scenic Route Charlotte Hill Stripe Paper as your background.

2. Take your darkest shade of brown cardstock and adhere a vertical 5×7 photo in the top right rand corner leaving a border of at least 3mm around it. Adhere a vertical, smaller photo directly beneath it on the right side, as shown in the layout above.

3. Cut out a rectangle around your photos, as shown in the layout above. The border around the photos should be at least 3mm.

4. Adhere your rectangle vertically towards the right side of your page.

5. Cut out a rectangle of your lightest shade of brown cardstock to fit in the bottom left corner of your rectangle. Make sure it is not too high as you have to fit other pieces above it. Add your journaling and adhere in position.

6. Cut out five rectangles measuring approximately 3cm by 5cm from your middle shade of brown cardstock. Cut the shape of a letter out of the middle of each one to make the large word of your title. You may wish to position your letters towards the bottom of each rectangle rather than in the middle, as shown in the layout above. To draw your letters, try using a template or printing them from your computer.

7. Place your lightest shade of brown cardstock behind each rectangle from the previous step so the colour comes through the letters you have cut out.

8. Adhere your title across your page underneath your large photo, as shown in the layout above. Use small brown alphabet stickers to add other words to your title (for example, I have added the word ‘The’ above my large letters).

9. Measure the gap between the bottom of your large photo and the top of your journaling piece (mine was 3.2cm). Subtract around 6mm from this measurement (gives me 2.6cm). Now measure the length your large letters have taken (mine was 16.7cm). You now have the dimensions for the strip of Scenic Route Charlotte Brown Floral Paper that you need to cut. Once you have cut it out, ink the edges with brown ink and adhere directly underneath your large letters.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

It’s not often that I get to scrap with pink, so I loved creating this page. These tulips were a gift from James (my husband and co-owner of Stickers ‘N’ Fun) and I just thought they were so beautiful they needed to be scrapped. I chose a clean, simple design from my 500 Scrapbooking Sketches book to keep the focus on my photos. If you like it, please leave a comment for me in the comments box below.

This layout was created using purple Bazzill cardstock, Autumn Leaves Paper Ribbons paper, white cardstock, small purple alphabet stickers, Suzy’s Zoo Easter Joy stickers, Bo Bunny White Shabby Random Phrases stickers and Doodlebug Designs Love Spell stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the purple Bazzill cardstock as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Autumn Leaves Paper Ribbons paper measuring approximately 25.74cm by 23.2cm. Using a pencil, lightly mark the spot 10.5cm up from the bottom right corner and the spot 10.5cm left of the bottom right corner. Cut a straight line between these two points so you now have a triangle.

3. Glue your triangle in the bottom right corner of your page.

4. Glue your remaining piece of Paper Ribbons paper up against the left edge of your page and approximately 4.3cm from the bottom edge.

5. Use Bo Bunny White Shabby Random Phrases stickers to create a collage of words on a diagonal line between your two pieces of Paper Ribbons paper, as shown above. Keep in mind that a section of these words will be covered later with your photo.

6. Mat two vertical photos and one horizontal photo with white cardstock. Position them on your page as shown above and glue down.

7. Mat the ‘love’ sticker from Doodlebug Designs Love Spell stickers with white cardstock and glue in the top left corner of your page as part of your title. Finish off your title with small purple alphabet stickers. If you wish, you can add journaling around your page with these same alphabet stickers. For example, I have written ‘From James’ underneath the photo of the single tulip and the date in the space above my horizontal photo.

8. Add a small heart sticker from Doodlebug Designs Love Spell stickers to the right of your title and a heart outline sticker somewhere down the right side of your page.

9. Finally, place a sticker (in my case, a mouse with a tulip) in the bottom right corner of your page.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

Cloud 9 stickers and papers are so beautiful that they make it incredibly easy to create stunning pages. The patterns and colours are just gorgeous – they even make my not-so-ideal photos look good!

This layout was created using Cloud 9 Sorbet Villa Paper Pack, green cardstock and Cloud 9 Sorbet Villa Elements stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the green floral paper from the Cloud 9 Sorbet Villa Paper Pack as your background.

2. Cut a strip of blue floral paper approximately 8.5cm wide. Mat with orange paper so there is a 0.5cm wide orange border on either side of the blue floral paper. Glue vertically to your background approximately 2.5cm from the left edge.

3. Mat two horizontal 4×6 photos and one vertical 4×6 photo with green cardstock.

4. Place the vertical photo towards the top left corner of the page, approximately 2cm from the top edge and centred on top of your vertical strip.

5. Place the most important of your horizontal photos next to your vertical photo so that the bottom edges are inline with each other.

6. Centre your remaining photo below the other two.

7. Cut your title out of the orange paper and glue your letters in the space in the top right corner above your photo.

8. Finally, select three flower stickers from Cloud 9 Sorbet Villa Elements stickers. Place one in the top left corner and the other two towards the bottom right corner of your first horizontal photo, as shown in the layout above.

I always seem to be pushed for time so I am constantly looking for fun and fast scrapbooking ideas to show off my photos. Beautifully co-ordinated papers make it easy to put together a layout quickly and inexpensively. This layout shows one way to create a gorgeous page in less than half an hour using only a small number of supplies!

This layout was created using Chatterbox Olive Parlor Roses Cardstock, Chatterbox Olive Parlor Argyle Paper and alphabet stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Chatterbox Olive Parlor Roses Cardstock for the background.

2. Cut the Chatterbox Olive Parlor Argyle Paper in half. Set one half aside for Step 3. Turn the remaining half over to the plain olive side and cut two strips, each approximately 1cm tall.

3. Place adhesive along one of the long edges of one strip. Adhere it to the underside of the bottom edge of the argyle paper you set aside in Step 2. The result should be a visible strip approximately 0.5cm tall along the bottom edge of your argyle paper. Repeat for the top edge of your argyle paper.

4. Adhere your argyle paper across your layout towards the top, as shown above.

5. Place your three vertical photos side by side on top of the argyle paper. If you are using 4×6 photos, they will stretch all the way across the page. If your photos are smaller, you may like to consider matting them first.

6. Finish off by creating a title in the bottom right-hand corner of your page using alphabet stickers.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

Karen Foster stickers continue to provide unique and intriguing designs for embellishing your pages and adding a touch of sophistication. Each sheet comes with enough stickers for either a single page or double page layout and they are so easy and quick to use. The following layout shows how to use a classic design for a single page layout that took less than half an hour to complete.

This layout was created using It Takes Two Green Fibre paper, brown stripe paper, green cardstock, gold letters, a brown pen and Karen Foster Redwood Forest stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the It Takes Two Green Fibre paper as your background. If you do not have this paper, any nature green paper will do.

2. Position your border stickers down the left and right sides of your page and stick down. To minimise the risk of making a mistake with your placement, I recommend roughly cutting the sticker out while still on its backing paper. When you are ready to adhere it to your page, peal back a corner of the backing paper. Stick that corner in place and slowly pull the backing paper away from the rest of the sticker with one hand while sticking it in place with the other. This will make it much easier to get it straight and in the desired position.

3. Mat your main horizontal 4×6 photo with green cardstock and again with brown stripe paper. Glue towards the top left corner of your page, as shown above.

4. Mat your vertical 4×6 photo with brown stripe paper. Glue towards the bottom right corner of your page, as shown above.

5. Mat your remaining photo with brown stripe paper. Glue towards the bottom left corner of your page, as shown above.

6. To create your title, cut one square of brown stripe paper for each letter of your title. Place a gold letter in the centre of a square. Instead of matting the square, draw a border around the edges with a brown pen. Position your letters, one above the other in the top right corner of your page and adhere. Your arrangement will depend on how many letters you have. Overlap them if necessary.

7. Cut a rectangle of brown stripe paper for your journaling box. Use a brown pen to journal and then draw a brown border around the edges as you did with the letters. Glue to your page in the remaining space between your photos.

8. Finally, use the remainder of your stickers to decorate and embellish your layout.

What do you think? Do you like this scrapbooking idea? Do you have any questions? Would you have done anything different? We’d love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.

Scrapbooking ideas do not need to be complicated or time-consuming. By employing a couple of basic techniques, understanding how to create balance on a page and allowing your photos (rather than a large array of embellishments) to tell your story, it is possible to create captivating pages, such as the one below, in small amounts of time. Give it a go! You’ll soon be ploughing through those piles of photos in the ‘To Do’ list!

This layout was created using Junkitz Cat Floral paper, Autumn Leaves Fresh Citrus Flowers Paper, Autumn Leaves Yellow Stripes paper, orange cardstock, Creative Imaginations Leaf Alphabet epoxy stickers, small green alphabet stickers and Provo Craft 3D Flower Frenzy Epoxy stickers.

To recreate this scrapbook page idea, follow these steps:

1. Use the Junkitz Cat Floral paper as your background.

2. Cut a piece of Autumn Leaves Fresh Citrus Flowers Paper measuring approximately 9.5cm by 21cm.
