Colour is an important element in scrapbooking - one that could make or break your designs. This quick double-page layout shows how to combine colour and texture with a balanced geometric design to create a successful page.

This layout was created with four shades of Bazzil cardstock, tan cardstock and Doodlebug Zoofari stickers.

The first step to creating this layout is successfully choosing colours that match. I began with a base colour of light brown, as I thought it was quite appropriate for a zoo layout. I then matched three shades of brown (two Bazzil and one normal) to it. I also selected a green to add interest to the page. By using Bazzil cardstock instead of normal cardstock, I was also able to add texture and dimension to the page.

Constructing this layout is very simple. All you need to do is matt your photos and cut four strips of green cardstock. Arrange them on your page and decorate with Doodlebug Zoofari stickers. I also added a small square on the right-hand page. This could be used either for a smaller photo or journaling. 

And that's it! Another great layout in less than half an hour!
